While what you say is true, it is also true that the pieces Atlanta has already acquired are better than the pieces we acquired in year one, and they are still shopping hard. If you go back to our inaugural opening day roster and offered the 2015 version of any of those players to Atlanta, they would take Villa and probably Mix, salary aside. I can't see them taking Saunders, Wingert, Hernandez, Brovsky, Williams, Jacobson, Ballouchy, Grabavoy, or Nemec. They may end up with 2-3 of these types of guys on the team getting playing time, but we had *9*.
Meanwhile, it appears so far that Minnesota is operating like it's 2015 and not 2017. In MLS, if you're managing your front office like teams did two years ago, you're three years behind the curve.
Do you like Parkhurst at this point? It seems to me his best days are behind him, and he's not impressed me recently when i've seen Columbus play.
I forgot about Loyd.
I think he'd be pretty solid paired with Chanot or a great option in the stay at home fullback position. No doubt he's not at his peak form, but I think it may have been a dip moreso than he's totally washed up.
I wouldn't trade Chanot or Matarrita for him. Pretty much any other defender we have is not close to him, with the exception of Brillant (and I don't know which I prefer).
Depending on the cost, I agree with you. Parkhurst at $300,000 isn't good value. Parkhurst at $200,000 is.
Great post, but I wouldn't be surprised if they took a run at Nemec (if he fit their system and also didn't get Kenwyne Jones). It seems as though Nemec has performed well everywhere else except at NYCFC, where he was just straight up laughable.
It was the Kreis-factor that fcked with his game.
It was strange when Nemec was in the lineup, our fullbacks couldn't put in any decent crosses (brovsky and wingert) , and when Nemec wasn't playing we got RJ who would put crosses over Villa's head.
ATL is going to fill out their defense with loanees from SA connections (I believe they were linked to three from Newell's - one of Martino's old clubs). They'll throw some of their extra GAM to get the int'l spots.
Defense or no defense, their front four looks really good. And I think Jones is going to do really well and bag 15-20 in MLS easy.
They will not be a pushover.
Honestly, this year with Mata and RJ and Harrison throwing in crosses, Nemec would have had 5-10 goals. Villa may have been knocked down 2-3 times going for the ball, but he'd have had legit scoring chances.
I vaguely remember this, I'll ask mike and see what details he has.
TBF, he has been underwhelming for most of the teams he has play for except for his NT.

Actually yes. I was being nice and agreeing with you, but your position isn't correct. Prior to NYCFC he scored 14/60 at Union and this season he's scored 4/13 for dinamo Bucharest. For his national team he's scored 8/27. Between those stops he scored zero with NYCFC and then zero at William II after he left us mid season. Earlier in his career he scored 25/74, 10/29, 9/61. Another was 2/15 and 4/21. He typically was averaging a goal every 3-4 games. And yet the only teams he didn't score for were NYCFC and the followup team after having his confidence shattered by Kreis.and yet he sucks everywhere else is kreis' fault
If he scored every 3-4 games for us, he'd have been in our top rung of contributors last year with potentially 8-11 goals.
So yeah, Nemec probably can blame Kreis for fcking up his game. I sure do and it's backed by his stats. But that's ok, feel free to characterize his stints as having "sucked."

Personally attacking me doesn't add more weight to your arguement.
You can replace "sucks everywhere' with "still sucks now for his club even though Kreis is not his coach" if you would like, but its amazing that his "shattered confidence" doesn't affect his play for the NT. Must be that seasonal type of shattered confidence.
How did I personally attack you? You pull a line from the matrix and your opinion isn't close to being backed up by stats.
His shattered confidence continued the second half of 2015 season playing with William II, no goals for them, so half a year with us and no goals and then half for them with no goals. Then he has an offseason and starts fresh with a new team and he's back to averaging a goal every 3.25 games at Dinamo. So yeah, if you think that scoring rate sucks, then you're simply naive or stubborn. I'll go with you're just being stubborn because you realize the facts and stats don't back up your point of view. And that isn't a personal attack, that's an observation.
