I think he mentioned in his responses that he believed that we would be signing some more internationals but doesn’t have any names yet which suggests that the big news isn’t another player signing but something else. Can’t promise that I didn’t misread given my early start to New Years.

ETA: unless of course CR and PV teased him with a bigger signing without details but that doesn’t sound like what he was saying.

I read this as he was going to do a bigger feature on Medina next week. I suppose it could mean more news, but when journalists say "bigger story" they normally mean a bigger article. If he thinks he has bigger news he'd (a) report it not tease it, and (b) if he was teasing it, he'd say he had "bigger news".

Also if he had "bigger news," he wouldn't share it in the same tweet as his Medina newser. It would seem to make sense that he was saying he'd have a bigger story on Medina next week. Probably after he gets a chance to interview the guy.

I get it, we think we can do better than Maxi. But that doesn't mean every time another team signs a good player we all need to be upset that other talented players are signing elsewhere in the league. I just don't have enough energy to spend on that.

Have you seen Turan in the last 2 years. Say what you want about Maxi but if he has a bad game he keeps his mouth shut. Turan on the other hand...

Maxi was available to sell or use the once a year cut this season. Then Turan could have been had. I’m a fan of this club, I really hope he works out. But last season didn’t give me much hope.

Does Turan want to live in NYC? Does he want to play for PV? Does he want to play in our system? I'm not sure I know the answers to those questions so I won't comment on whether we would be able to bring him in if we had an open DP spot.

And yeah, Maxi was a bit underwhelming last year. I do think he can perform better if we have another legit scoring option for him to feed, but I do think even still then we can do better at the DP spot.

I very much do think cutting him would be a massive mistake as that could really leave a terrible impression for players wanting to sign here.

TL/DR, yes we can do better than Maxi. No, I won't get upset about it again every time another team signs a DP.
