2020 CCL

Is Tigres the most difficult team on our path to final? I feel the other America, Cruz Azul, Leon get eliminated or we see them in final if we make it

The good: NYCFC came within a coin flip of getting Leon and got a much easier opponent in the first round. Their side of the draw is relatively easier with Tigres as the only Liga MX team on their side. So they could get an all MLS semifinal with either Seattle or Montreal.

The bad: if NYCFC gets to the second round they have to beat APG, Tuca and Tigres. Gulp.

It could be worse, LAFC could have a Leon-Cruz Azul-America-Tigres gauntlet to win. On the flip side, Seattle has a relatively mild glide path to the semifinals.

I find myself somewhere between excited for this thing and curious. Curious excitement. Still care more right now about th mls season. Don’t like playing this early in the year of course.

I'm excited again. And Feb is a perfect time to get out of NYC for warm weather weenies like me. Still down on the ownership tho.

If we had a coach already I’d be ok with the first round draw (with Dome then yes no doubt going thru).

According to the Spanish pre game and post game shows. Sam Carlos is given the dark horse title for this tournament so it won’t be easy. However they too have stadium issues and potentially play away from home in the huge national stadium in Costa Rica (though in the CL I think they played in alajuelense) so they may lose some of that home team advantage.

I’m still excited though
