I think it's ok to be skeptical about this rumor.
it is more than ok to be extremely skeptical about this rumor
It is exceedingly OK to be monumentally skeptical about this rumor
Not even Giroud could connect on most of our crosses. With the way we cross the ball, we could use a player like Giroud.
But not happening.
What's funny about it, is they mention that our competition to sign him is Vancouver and they've been the ones previously identified as where he doesn't want to go.
Don’t see there being any truth to this. Wouldn’t make sense unless we know already that Taty won’t be here. Still, there’s a lot of depth up front. I also think it would be a high profile signing that wouldn’t really do much to change attendance
So he and Claudio don’t get along? Because the roster is Claudio’s doing.I read on Twitter that Dome made some comments this week that he has complained about the budget and roster construction since January.
The roster is the best thing the Club has going for it.So he and Claudio don’t get along? Because the roster is Claudio’s doing.
Yes. And imagine if the hit rate on the DPs was 3 and not 1.5.The roster is the best thing the Club has going for it.
What about Matarrita? Can he come back from this mistake? It was a big one, and this is a guy whose career has been failing to take off for a couple of years now.
I wonder if it might be better for him to start fresh elsewhere, and I ask that not out of bitterness or anger, but honestly wondering if he can put this one behind him.
Don’t gaslight Mata - he has ALWAYS been a horrible defender. He had injury problems and also defending problems. There is zero reason to bring him back on a new contract, none. He’s not the future of the position, and at this point he’s a fan-angered pariah. I’ll go out on a limb that and posit that there is a zero percent chance that all of his teammates won’t hold a grudge. Statistically speaking, somebody will blame him for the crashout - the looks on a few of their faces were of anger last night when it happened, not simply shock, and Mata has a history of losing his composure with recklessness.I think he can come back from this mistake. We have a good team and a good group of guys. He'll get the support he needs to move past this and hopefully he can use it to motivate him to improve next season if he re-signs with us. Namely, I think if he improves his stamina to be able to go a full 90 without dropping in quality, he'd be a better player. He gets tired early and then gets lazy. Especially after making a long run to get forward, which he loves to do, and I am ok with.
His problem the past few seasons was getting injured very easily. This season was the first time he spend a significant amount of time off the injured list and he was performing pretty well the last 4 or 5 games. I always thought his problem was stamina and focus. Both of which can be improved. Hopefully, they do.
FWIW - i'd like to see Haak and Scally get more minutes next year. Haak has SO much potential from what i've seen and Scally is world cup squad quality. They need more time to gain experience.
