2025 Roster and Transfer Discussion Thread

I think the pks are fair to include in Alonso 's total because he's the one drawing them and he's the best in the league this season at drawing them in dangerous positions
I think it is fair to include and it is fair to not include. Both are valid explorations of what is happening on the team. Just as it is fair to simply add his 2 PK goals with no further explanation and it is fair to include those two goals with the asterisk that he has only scored 2 out of 4. I simply find it interesting that there is less of a production gulf between him and our next 2 most productive offensive players than I would have predicted.

And Gray for Jamaica, right? How many MLS games will overlap the Gold Cup? Losing Freese AND Martinez AND Gray for multiple games would be not great.

at least ilenic is a competent right back. Losing Freese sucks, but i think our back up keepers can handle it. Martinez would be the biggest hole and we only have Bakrar to fill it.

It's not great, but also not as bleak as it has been in the past. Under Cushing, losing a key guy like Maxi or Parks meant everything would fall apart. Pascal just demonstrated he can game plan around the loss of Parks, even when Maxi subs out, the team still looks capable this year as opposed to completely lost like last season. There's a small part of me that's even a bit curious to see what Pascal might cook up to try to score some goals without Martinez up front.

this is why calling up reid this week made no sense. i think he only has one more window and with gold cup and legues cup coming up he could of been used there even as a back up for few minutes.

Cap space depends on who is paying his salary. I think it's safe to assume that St. Pauli is paying his salary.
Right. He's on $1.05M/year, so he frees up both cap space and TAM. My guess is that in loan situations, MLS only gives credit for the portion that receiving team is paying, although I have never seen that confirmed. I have seen something suggesting that St. Pauli is paying all of Sands' salary. That would actually be a big hit for them, as their total budget is only $1.5-2.0M higher than ours, and they have it spread across 45 players.

Now we know what Lee is doing! Following Pep! /s

Hey CFG, over here, we’ll take some!

You don't want a big squad when you're healthy, but you do want it when you're injured.

Discount transfers to NYCFC please! We'll take Jack Grealish.
