2025 Season Ticket Thread

I'm fuming.

I just noticed a $598 charge on my bank account from NYCFC. I had no idea what it was for and texted my rep. She didn't get back to me for a while. Meanwhile I'm scanning my email inbox and not seeing anything and getting really freaked about fraud or something. I finally find an email from 4/25 titled "follow-up 2025 membership" that is about the stadium, some contest i can enter, etc. I sort of remember seeing it and thinking whoa way to early to think about 2025. Now I see that 10 PARAGRAPHS DOWN, it mentions that next year's fee will be AUTOMATICALLY DEDUCTED FROM MY ACCOUNT IF I DON'T OPT OUT IN 30 DAYS. Also, follow up to what? There was no previous email about 2025.

My rep finally gets back to me and says yeah the first email went to spam on 4/15. They sent it to spam, what? I can't verify because spam gets deleted after a month. And she says when I signed up for membership last year it stated it would auto-renew unless I opted out and there would be info sent to me about it the following year when it was time (this was August so I figured it would be around then).

So she ended by basically saying you signed the agreement last year, too bad so sad, NO refunds. (This was all via text) So that's it, I'm out 600 bucks whether I like it or not?

Like, ok, obviously I must have read the agreement last year before I signed it, and yes I should have read through that long "follow-up" email on the 25th since it did have "2025 membership" in the title. But like, this feels fucking shady. I hadn't decided yet what I was going to do next year-- re-up or not? Maybe upgrade? Now I just want out, to be totally honest. Awful taste in my mouth right now.

Any advice or thoughts?

They have always auto-renewed with an opt out deadline.
A few years ago the renewal date moved up maybe 2 months when they extended the pay over time option.
I think if you pay over time you can cancel any time and stop remaining payments but not get a refund, but if you pay at once you have no recourse.
All of which are pretty standard in the industry.
The thing they did this year to frack things up was they started sending member emails from a different address and gmail and other clients sent it all to spam.

as mgarbowski said - the practice is pretty standard. the switching up of the domains for emails probably screwed a lot of people with spam filtering.

perhaps you can take solace in the fact that you'll likely be able to make a good chunk of money back selling next season's miami home match tickets?

thanks all. It's my first year as season ticket holder.

And you reminded me, I still need to put up for sale this years Miami game! Anyone sold it yet?

I have been checking Ticketmaster every now and then to see if it’s started to fill up and the prices are moving , price has stayed the same for the last month or 2

I think the team has effectively killed the secondary market by opening up all of Yankee stadium. Supply outweighs demand.

I would think that if Kansas could get 72k people to go to Arrowhead stadium Yankee stadium should be an easy sell out

I just meant that it is doubling the amount that regularly attend games so at the moment if you want a ticket you can get a ticket. Maybe as we get closer that changes….. also, I’m sure some people are holding off to see if he actually plays.

I also wonder if the upcoming Copa Argentina match plays into this. I bought tickets and then discovered a conflict. So I can't use them. Listed them a little above market for a few weeks then moved them to a little below market. A week in to that pricing and they haven't moved yet.

I suspect at least some of the Messi fans out there will look to see him in June playing for country before even thinking about Yankee Stadium. (Though my tickets sitting don't give much proof to that either.)

Ticketmaster has seats in the 400 sections for $2XX so my marked up ticket hasn't sold

Anybody have champions club season tickets? Was thinking of upgrading for next season for the parking and food perks but can’t find what the menu is. Or many reviews on it

If you can afford the upgrade to Legends, it’s worth it for the food. Tickets won’t be as close to the pitch as compared to Champions (endline vs sideline) but food is 100% better at Yankee Stadium.

It’s so annoying they hide basic info now. Prices for all ticket categories used to be public, and more information was available about club food and facilities.
FWIW, it was probably 5 years ago I attended a game in the Champions Club and it offered basic ballpark food - burgers, hot dogs etc.
