I think the rest of the Eastern Conference woke up this morning and collectively thought:

Fcking A, those bastards actually beat Colorado and we have to win today. And they did it without Villa and half their defense - FCK!!!

I actually saw the flash in the sky. It was just as the players were running back into place after I❤️Lamp's first goal. It wasn't much, and there was no thunder, but I knew we might not restart.

Yeah, I saw it too, it was simultaneous with the lights flashing following the goal, was glad they got them back out as quickly as they did.

I know it's hard to make a definitive statement on Chanot after 1/2 a game, up 2-0 and a man up...but you can tell he's gonna be a solid addition. We have a pretty good core group in the back 4 now when healthy. It's going to be interesting to see how PV plays it. I'm thinking it's the French Connection back there with Jason & Mena backing up.

Not sure it will be an issue for a few games as Mena may be out. As LionNYC said, Mena left at halftime clearly holding his hamstring. I don't think the Chanot sub was planned but it worked out great. If Mena is out the French connection seems like a no brainer. The bigger question for me is if Mata is still hurt will PV keep Martinez on the left after the game he put in and slot RJ back into his natural spot on the right. Hernandez did well playing out of position but RJ when on the right side is considerably better.

Hopefully Chicago can at least manage a draw with the Red Bulls today. RSL should be trouble for Philly.

Maybe someone else can help me out and pinpoint when Matarrita was injured. I've forgotten, and I want to have a reason to think my suspicion that he's being held out to be sold this window is totally crazy.

He was originally injured in the Copa IIRC. Then we held him out a week, put him back in and he re-injured himself. Someone in another thread said they spoke to him post-match at the meet and greet and he said he's playing next week.

Good. I can go back to only worrying about a keeper now.

RB is atrocious on the road - hopefully Chicago doesn't wet the bed and miss this opportunity.
Conventional wisdom says NJ should win. Then again, with the way they work themselves into a frenzy when they face NYCFC, I wouldn't be surprised at all if this is a let down game and they drop points.

Watched the game today. What a relief after losing to the shitbulls last week!

Totally dominated the game and could have scored a few more. Chanot looked very comfortable passing the ball out of the back. Hopefully, he can help solidify our defence and give us a solid base for the rest of the season.

Is their new/recent striker signing (de Leeuw) any good? I saw they sent Igboananike to DC

I think Mata was injured, but not badly, before the 2nd Red Bulls game. He didn't start, but came off the bench. Then, he started after that, but reinjured the leg.

I was at the post game meet and greet, and I asked TMac if Howard had gotten any of the ball on the play in the box. He shook his head and said "I don't know" in a tone that said "I'm not going to say anything more about it."
