seems to no be marketed much if at all....they make a bigger deal of it in univision for some reason.
i personally would love to go to home games ( maybe even away games if possible) as for empty stadiums. in the US...i guess keep in mind that it is weekends and sometimes some games will be 7 PM or so, people may still be getting out of work or just arriving to stadium from work.
one big issue would be where would nycfc host on a relatively short notice. that also would make my decision a maybe. if they host in freaking jersey then no i wont go.
i did like the old format of qualifiers and then a group stage but for some reason it died out...in my opinion it makes the first round very meh since there may be times an MLS/ liga MX team go half gas and becomes uncompetitive when they play Caribbean teams. a central american team can push you but it depends which one. some are better than others.

I heard while watching the LA game that the college campus they're on only allowed for a certain number of ticket sales due to it being a weeknight aka "school night" or something like that. Still had a decent amount, but the Seattle game is the only one that had a really substantial crowd.

Mentions they have had a limit up to 20,000 fans previously. At a CONCACAF Champions League match in 2012, they were limited to 7,500 (pathetic). FWIW, they were just shy of 19,000 last night and Seattle had 42,000.
2 games does not accurately portray the years of empty stadiums, I've been following this for 5 years and attendance for these games have been alarming.
About the second comment, Mexican teams, usually send a B team or variation of A and B teams, only using their A teams from the semis on or at home legs.. MLS teams face the dilemma of playing full strength squads vs keeping guys fresh for the regular season, this is a problem for us since most MLS teams are thin to begin with because of the salary cap

That's going to be a nightmare, I would guess our franchise would rather play away than play in a place like hofstra(?)
