That makes me cringe, there is a lot we should a lot for the other league but 30+ teams isn't one for them. 28 should be a max.

Idk if its good or bad but Im sure thats the direction theyll go. They wont admit it but the money they bring in with these expansions are too good to not give up.

Maybe but I think they will atop at 28 for a while at the very least.

The markets you are you are going to? There are some markets in some leagues that shouldn't be in the pro-leagues. Keeping it at 28 you keep it at all the major markets and not over expose the league.

MLS is loving the $100 million franchise fees they're collecting with these new teams, but is there enough American top-flight worthy talent to fill these roster spots?
With all this expansion, you'd think there's a surplus of American players out there that the rest of world doesn't have enough room to sign so MLS has to create new teams to keep them playing?

Meh, markets aren't static. They shift with time.
Chicago used to be "the second city. " Then it got bumped by LA and now it has Dallas and Houston breathing down its neck, growing much faster than it is.
One of our "smaller markets" right now is San Jose but the San Jose area is home to Silicon Valley. Will it be small forever? It's currently the 34th largest metro (1.919 million) in the US and the 2nd smallest in MLS in front of only Salt Lake City (1.140 million)
Minneapolis is the 16th largest metro in America with 3.45 million people. Too small?
Phoenix is the 12th with 4.39 million people. No team yet.
San Diego has 3.21 million making it 17th but is growing slightly faster than Minneapolis. No team yet.
Tampa has 2.87 million making it 18th, no team.
Charlotte is 23rd with 2.33 million but is growing faster than Portland (24th) 2.31 million. No team yet.
Meanwhile, Detroit has 4.29 million(14th)...but continues to shrink. Will they get a team? Not sure.
For comparison's sake, Manchester has a "county population" of just 2.68 million.

And that still doesn't tell me that it is worth taking a a $50 million check to be in some of those markets. That is just a point of view I have. The NHL NBA MLB and NFL could all use all use contraction of up maybe 4 team in these leagues.
Based on what metric? If they weren't money makers, they would be contracted.
I don't know...obviously I come from a completely different culture, but anything above 24 is too many for me. I still can't get my head around how a league where the teams play each other an uneven amount of times can be considered a fair competition. If you expand to 32 you're only making it worse. Obviously you guys are used to this, so you won't agree, and I'm not looking to debate the point. It just seems weird. If only you guys have promotion/relegation...

I'm just stating my personal opinion, some teams like the rays and some of the teams NBA would be better contracted.
PLEASE GOD NO!!!! That would suck. And picture going to a business owner saying "hey how about you lose some money so a team in a smaller market out in west bumblefuck can make the money you could." I'm sorry but Promotion/Relegation of professional sports franchises is the dumbest business concept the in the world of sports business. It's the same reason I know there will never be contraction.

Lol, just no, first of all there will always be crappy teams and there always should be crappy teams. Secondly, the player pool for soccer is just so massive, 30 rich clubs won't be a problem.
Your whole concept that if we just contract some of the bad teams,then there won't be bad teams is so flawed.

It's like traditional capitalism vs traditional socialism. Not sure there is a "correct" way, just whichever you prefer I guess. A league like the EPL would appeal more to an owner like Roman Abromovich than the MLS would.

Define "can't support." Again, if these teams were losing money, they would fold.
