Hint: Messi is great because he plays for Barcelona in a lopsided league.
I say that half tongue in cheek, but there’s truth to it. He’s not dominant on the national team stage because he plays competition that matches up much more evenly with Argentina than LaLiga teams do with Barcelona.
I am not trained to be an expert and do not profess to be one . I agree with you. Messi is great player , don't want to take that from him but he plays in La Liga day in and out with the same talented team -mates every week , (Suarez , Luis ; ;Busquets, Sergio ;Coutinho, Philippe ;Vidal, Aleix ;Piqué, Gerard ; Iniesta, Andrés and not familiar with all)
and trains with the same coach and assistants and they have developed , familiarity, consistency, they know each other when and how the teammate will kick, move , run, feint, and do whatever magic they do with their marvelous legs and heads
Barcelona's roster is a well oiled machine. and Messi shines
All the national teams have their talented players BUT they are together and train only during qualifiers and competition such WC . what time ? maybe as much as a month or less.
Very sad to say good - bye Argentina , not many South American teams left to party with . We always make the party a lot of fun!
OLEEE , OLEEE URUGUAY !
