Forum Updates

One thing I noticed... and tell me if i'm doing something wrong...... but, any time I leave a thread and come back to it when it has new posts, I seem to go to some unspecified point in the stream....

For example, if there's a postmatch thread and I post in it as post 10, then come back later and see there are 16 posts, I don't get taken automatically to post 11 (or 12 if I already read 11). More like it takes me to post 15 or so and I think i'm reading all the new posts and instead I scroll up and see some I missed.... :beermug:

It's supposed to home in on the first unread message. If that's not happening for you, I'd guess either your browser isn't optimised for the software or just something is plain going wrong.

Can you allow more than 10 images/gifs per post? When I go on a gif rant, I'd like to use more than 10 options.

Damn it all to hell!

It's like it defaults to the first message that was posted since I was last active, not since I last looked at the thread.

Oh well, guess I just miss out on a lot of the witty bants. :fearscream:

Honestly not sure. I get it at times as well.
Not positive what the software uses to determine what a missed post is. Perhaps if you stay logged in it doesn't alert the first hour?
I use my phone mostly and this is the thread I visited last and it didn't notify me for the two replies above you.
But you could always scroll up lol

I love this site. My life has never been the same since discovering this place last year....Can we roll back the enhancements ?:)

I have a suggestion. With the advent of the "New Post" link, is it possible to also have it located at the bottom, alongside the forum tabs? Being this is now my main go to link, after reading the final post, I have to scroll up to the link. Having it at the bottom will save me a an extra step.

What do you guys think? Good suggestion, or am I being too lazy? o_O

I agree. There *is* a microscopic Top link in the bottom right corner but as someone interested in UI design (not professionally) it's a tiny target that's surrounded by to many other things. It'd definitely be great to have an additional big New Post link at the bottom.

FWIW ...
how much of a pain in the ass (thumb) is it to have to scroll back up from the bottom of a page? Having a new posts link at the bottom of pages would also make my ridiculously easy life that much easier.
That was my post to NYCFC_Dan about 6 weeks ago. He said it would cost money to have a developer do it. Then he pointed out that I could tap the top of my iPhone screen to automatically scroll to the top.

But I'm still with you. It would be a nice link to have at the bottom.

BTW guys New Post has ALWAYS been there. I used it every day. The only difference is that now there's a number next to it lol.
I'm at work but when I get home I'll see if there's a way to add footer links

You can also just click on the current page number of the thread. It will reload, but it won't take long at all.
