MCFC certainly won't send Lampard back early. It would be publicly accepting defeat, which looks extremely bad (even worse than the situation looks currently). It would also give a sense that the season is over and that negativity would rub off on the players and the fans. In addition to that, MCFC really have been dragged in to a fight for their top 4 place and losing even a squad player like Lampard could bite them on the arse.
No, because they have Aston Villa on Aprril 25 and QPR on May 9, and there might be some other milestone he can achieve subbed in while MCFC loses to yet another team in danger of relegation

These two players were loved at the club before.the amount of abuse they got on forums made lampardgate seem like a love in !.
They weren't loudly booed but wernt cheered either ,after a few games and a goal .their names were song as if nothing had happened .exactly the same will happen with lampard the first goal he scores or creates.football fans are very fickle and forget very quickly.
