On TV Heber Looked gassed. He was having a terrible night for him and I made a note at 56' that I wanted to see Taty for him. He got decent service but didn't make anything of it. On the other hand, Mitrita had a very good game, as did Isi. Both were doing what they need to do (penetrate and create shots or chances) and defending. While Mitrita has an unattractive tendency to walk and sulk when he loses the ball in the final third, he checked back well to midfield multiple times to help force turnovers. He doesn't get enough credit for that.

The midfield in general worked out of pressure maybe as well as I have ever seen them do. Surprisingly this was more true before Maxi came on than after.

And I think the team did a very good job of making Tigres uncomfortable in midfield. I lost count of how many times Tigres banged the ball into touch because of pressure. Keaton and Isi did better at this than Maxi and Medina did, and it showed at the end. Mitirita's move in the box at 76' showed that he still had some gas in the tank when Isi had disappeared and Keaton was starting to lose battles he had been winning. So I understand why Heber, Isi and Parks came out. I would have preferred GMS to Medina, though.

Plenty of Ref issues, and I'll add that I'm pretty sure the goal would have been called offiside under VAR.

Tonight came down to one thing: finishing.

We created the chances and just couldn't get the finishes. We looked far better than we've looked in the first two league matches.

Also, on TV the fan support sounded about equal to me.

Surprised to hear you thought Mitri had a good game. Offensively he created some chances, but defensively Heber did most of his work from my view. His sulking will never be forgiven, not when everyone else is running their ass off. One time he lost the ball at the top of the box and instead of immediately trying to pressure to pick the defender's pocket from behind, he just stood there. Drives me insane to see him not immediately fight for the ball. Not to mention, many a time he'd receive the ball and literally walk it around like it's training. Where's the alertness?the competitive edge so he's ready to attack or pass? I want second half 2019 Mitri. not first half 2019 Mitri.

I watched a replay and vargas is quite clearly onside, as annoying as that might be... But I'd love to see the potential penalties...

Don't think you're missing anything. Ronny doesn't know our players and his tactics just aren't good enough.

Subbing off isi might have been necessary due to injury but Heber needed to stay on. He was frequently doing Mitri's defensive work. Mitri needed to come off for taty and bring on maxi for Isi.

Then we got parks and maxi in the midfield, which is when we were most successful last year. Sands can drop to the back and our wingbacks are more free to attack.

We were absorbing pressure (barely cause they were just waiting for us to come at them instead of attacking) and waiting for a counter when we should have been pressing to win the ball back to play our possession game.

Poor Tactics and poor subs lost us this game. The players, except for Mitri in my opinion, all played with lots of heart and intensity. It's a tough loss at the death like that.. for me this was all on Ronny

It looked to me like Delia has given the whole midfield license to bomb forward beyond Hebér / Taty, and while that's not necessarily bad what *was* bad was that Ring took the most advantage of that license. I love Ring, we all love Ring, but his job should absolutely not be to take shots. Multiple times he was in a forward position where the ball fell and by rights an actual goal-scorer should have been in that spot rather than him.

i don't see anything wrong with ring going forward. it causes chaos in their defense, but he needs to work on his shooting. i think he had 2 shots this game? and they were pretty pitifiul attempts with not much power and right at the keeper. it makes me wonder where all that composed finishing in training disappears to when it's game time? is it cause we practice all that finishing without any defenders? I think that may have something to do with it. If you don't practice in high pressure situations you can't handle them with composure when they arise in a game.

Should be attackers v. defense at training. Losers have to do pushups or run or some other punishment.

i don't see anything wrong with ring going forward.

Yeah, it's fine for him to drive forward with the ball or to create a passing option by racing ahead, but he needs to be handing the ball off rather than shooting, unless he's inside the box, maybe.

After the NBA paused its season during the second half, I really lost focus on this game. So to be honest, I barely even remember the goal. It felt completely insignificant compared to what was happening around the country.

I didn’t look at my phone during the second half and basically high tailed it out of there right after Tigres scored at the end. I pulled out my phone for the first time when I got to the PATH station and literally it was like watching the world crumble in real time:

Etc etc.

Yeah that's exactly what it felt like watching at home. It really felt like the world as we knew it was ending, and I found myself basically not even watching the game anymore as everything burned to the ground.
