How Cfg Can Make Up For Lampard.

I don't think we should be too concerned with the salary cap and transfer fees per se. We've heard that we couldn't get Ganso because of his asking price or Tefu because of the cap.

We can have CFG buy a player at Melborne, MCFC or Yokohama and then trade or loan that player to NYCFC at a discount rate can't we?

It would be a way around the salary cap and transfer fee. We're paying our EDS loanees 60k per half season.

Couldn't CFG sign Ganso, Pato, Tefu, etc and then just move them to us? I'm sure it'll cause cries of unfairness from the entire league but I'd love it.

It would be a way around the cap and would go leaps and bounds in restoring NYCFC fans trust in CFG.

It'll be a huge step towards rebuilding our trust after the Lampard fiasco.

As you mentioned, I wonder how much they are already doing this with loaners from MC. If so, it would be a massive hole in the salary cap. You have to wonder how long it would remain open - especially if we are really abusing it.

As long as MLS has archaic rules we should absolutely exploit them.

Let's get players in on the cheap. If CFG want to show the value they place on this team, this is how they do it.

CFG owes us nothing. Please stop.

People here would have preferred Liam Ridgewell or BWP as a Designated Player because they aren't hurt and they are younger than Lampard.

They spent $100 Million to buy a franchise. There are teams in this league who haven't spent $100 million IN TOTAL in their history (looking at you Colorado, New England and Philadelphia).

Make up might have been the wrong term. "Regain our trust" would have been better.

There are still plenty of fans out there who feel slighted.

Montreal paid $40 million
Orlando paid $70 million
Atlanta will pay $70 million
Minnesota will pay $100 million

Expansion fees shouldn't be taken into account, it's the price you pay to start a franchise. Just because other teams haven't spent as much doesn't mean our deep pocketed owner shouldn't. In fact they should be spending more if they want to show they care since we're the only team without a stadium plan.

The deep pocketed owner owes us very little. Pirlo and Villa are enough. The La
Lampard thing, if still an issue, is puzzling. Am I pissed off about it? Yes.

But you make it out to be that 100 Mil is nothing to these guys. It's still a lot of money.

Agreed. We could have owners like colorado or new jersey red bull. This team got 3 dp's in their first season, great leaders and guys that have striked up interest for nycfc. Lampardgate sucked, but they don't owe us anything.

And eventually, they are gonna build a hella awesome stadium and training ground.

- Alright, I met my positivity quota for today time to go through the rest of my day being negative.

You can't exploit the salary cap.

If your club shares an owner with the club where a player is being loaned from then the player's salary, in total, is counted against the salary cap. Not just the part that the MLS club is paying.

There is an $80 million apartment in the city where the tenant is a 3 year old Chinese baby. This apartment is for her when she goes to either Columbia, NYU, or Harvard.

It's not a lot of money for these people.

All that we are owed is the same thing which we were owed before the whole Lamp's issue, and that is continued support and investment by our (good/great) owners in order to truly help make this team one of the best in the MLS, it'll be of course a slow process it can't happen all at once.
But they just need to keep doing what they set out to do from the beginning, and try to be as transparent with us the fans, as is necessary.

Either way, I'm sure if Lamps start scoring goals for fun, we won't much care too much about what happened before, or at least definitely not as much.
