Your SMH is disingenuous and you know it. Nobody has said psychology doesn't apply to pro athletes - there's an entire subset in the profession/science of psychology for sports psychologists, but it's focus is all encompassing from not having confidence, to losing focus, to gaining a killer instinct, etc. Dealing with Crowd noise is probably part of it too. But what most posters (gbservis & Vallos & I) have discussed, and even the second article you posted, is that athletes tune the noise out. And that's different than saying psychology doesn't apply.

I have no problem agreeing that we disagree on the subject, but to be as dismissive to the posters that engaged with you in this conversation with a simple SMH elicites the same SMH as my reaction.

Didn't mean to be dismissive. Just truly read the comments as a dismissal of psychological effects. Thought SMH was an apt description of my confusion combined with #mobilepost to indicate there was just too much to say to do so on a phone.

It has become abundantly clear that no one related to the club has any idea of the reasons for the Lampard hate. So as a result I decided to compile all the Lampard gate situations. Maybe the INTERN can show these to the club for them to get some perspective. This has been going on for almost 2 YEARS.

Each of these situations may have a number of responsible parties. NYCFC, CFG, Frank Lampard, his agent, MLS, Don Garber. But Frank Lampard is the common factor in all of of these.

If anyone else remembers other situations, please post them and I'll edit them into my post.

Despite reports to the contrary, NYCFC GM Claudio Reyna says that he expects Lampard to return to NYCFC for the start of training camp in January. Meanwhile, the team Twitter account is pumping up every appearance Lampard makes with Manchester City, claiming him as “NYCFC’s.”

Dec. 28, 2014

CFO Tim Pernetti announces the team has sold nearly 12,000 season tickets, including a “record” number of sales in December.

Dec. 31, 2014

Lampard extends his contract with Manchester City until the end of the English Premier League season, meaning he’ll miss the first four months of the MLS season.

Jan. 9, 2015

Manchester City admits that Lampard didn’t have a contract with NYCFC or MLS.

“A genuine error,” the EPL team told The AP. On the same day, Lampard finally signs a contract with MLS and NYCFC to begin July 1.

I am also frustrated, but this thread bores me. It's wasted energy.

Focus on the positives. He is fit again and raring to go.
We need need to get into a winning streak and he knows how to win.
I believe he's done great mentoring for Jack Harrison, so his contribution this season is not zero.
