Not yet, but I am sure he will eventually, so why not show some initiative!Does Rupert Murdoch own that? I have an exclusive deal.
Yeah, I've been photoshopping US flag tattoos onto his bare pecs all night trying to psyche myself up.Not yet, but I am sure he will eventually, so why not show some initiative!
Anyway, welcome Lampard!
Time for me to shed my concerns and support him (since I can't reverse the signing).
As a matter of fact, yes! Red Bulls had a press conference where they announced absolutely nothing of any importance.Sorry I had school today, did I miss anything?
From the looks of Thierry Henry it was more of a MLS mandatory punishment sessionAs a matter of fact, yes! Red Bulls had a press conference where they announced absolutely nothing of any importance.
Don't forget the tramp stamps (just learned that phrase a few months ago and it is already a favourite).Yeah, I've been photoshopping US flag tattoos onto his bare pecs all night trying to psyche myself up.
your probably right as he does like a bit of disciplineI detest this type of non-logic. Just because Chelsea and EPL are superior on the whole to MLS it does not in fact mean he will demolish MLS opposition. In fact, I would imagine the Alonso Olvado, Kyle Beckerman and Michael Bradleys of MLS will probably school Lampard.
David Beckham at 32 but with a rather weaker LA Galaxy struggled when he joined MLS, and thats after spending years excelling at ManU and Real Madrid.
Really wonder if we go for the 4-3-3 or 4-2-2 with Lampard.
I know we only have four players at present, but I'm not sure it'd be wise to make playing an understrength side a policy...

Really wonder if we go for the 4-3-3 or 4-2-2 with Lampard. The video on mls.com on what the Lampard signing means tactically to nycfc was interesting. I agree with simon borg, we need two hard runners next to Lampard. Our next signing has to be a young DP midfielder who can cover a lot of ground. But if we do go with the 4-3-3 what does that mean for villa? Villa is more effective in a 4-2-2 playing next to another striker....hmm..decisions decisions.
This concern is why I wasn't/am not a big fan of the signing. He's not really a creator, and he's not going to cover the distance we'll need. For me, he's a luxury player for really strong squad. Given what we know of our squad and the league in general, there isn't a lot of room for luxury players.
Even guys like Higuain and Valeri are expected to give something on both ends (okay, too much for Valeri since he sometimes seems like he's trying to play the 8 & 10 a la WCF MB9). Henry got benched for several matches last year, I believe at least in part over work rate. MLS reflects the USMNT and USMNT reflects the American style of play that puts a premium on fitness and athleticism.
Even a guy like Robbie Keane defends, playing what I would call "sneaky defense". Point is, he puts in work all over the pitch. I really hope Lampard can give us something aside from PKs or an occasional cracker. We will need it.
