He isn't John Terry
Sometimes, we have to take our victories wherever we can find them.

I fully understand that internet forums are largely a platform for people to bitch and moan. I'm just trying to express a dissenting opinion and make it clear to any guests viewers we might having that not all Americans or NYCFC supporters feel strongly opposed to Lampard and that I in fact guess it's a vocal minority .
If you look back at the thread, there was like a week where some of us bitched about it. It wasn't some crusade. The rest of the bitching, and it's more widespread if not a majority, is about the fact that people think he's well past his expiration date to be the most effective option for a club with NYCFC's ambition and in a league as physically demanding as MLS.
There aren't many midfielders in MLS who can get by without a killer work rate, and it would be practically unheard of for a club to be able to play two such MF players at the same time. Since I rate Xavi as the far better fit for the tactics I expect we'll see, I would rather spend the DP slot on another player.
If he's not going to be a DP, then that changes the calculus entirely.
