That said, I think this is a very different thing, but hopefully will be just as enthusiastically adopted.

All I can do is share it. There are people who will swear this is "a TR thing" regardless and will hate on it. I'll do my part though. You can count on that.

The Warchant is probably the most well-known & authentic/appropriate fan cheer in the country. It's crazy when 80K fans are doing it.
Welp. I may have single handedly killed your idea. I posted it to the TR group and it was shot down (as usual). At least this time someone admitted that they wouldn't like anything suggested by me or anyone that likes me.

By no means am I directing any of this at you Rox, because a person can only lead a horse to water, but the TR (from my limited knowledge reading about the old Exec Committee and my posting to the FB song/chants page) seems like it is one serious dysfunctional beast. It's all-including membership & size is just too bloody factional with a ton of nay-saying folk that are quick to damn but are faster to want the inexpensive tickets. Maybe my impression is way off base and more support will trickle in to drown out the uber-trolls..... I mean FFS, something that lends itself to creating a spectator collective is exactly what NYCFC games need.
My guess is the idea failed the moment it was mentioned as the intro to a U2 song and not a chant developed by a couple of Williamburg/Bushwick guys riding their single-speed pursuit bikes to their favorite craft beer & marmalade sandwich bocce ball club.

Gotham Gator 's idea had me more excited yesterday than I've been since the last home game (not to be confused with the relief felt when Kreis was sacked).One person said that ideas are often shot down on the internet but take foot in real time at a bar or tailgate.

Thanks. I don't think it makes sense to give up at this point. Let's see if we can't break it out at some forum functions and pre-game marches and generate some momentum. If it really is worthwhile, that will get noticed. A couple people posting on Facebook does not mean that most people wouldn't like it - especially if it got started around them.
Yeah, I wasn't sending any shade your way - I know you have a tough (and probably thankless) job and you can only offer up ideas while not forcing them on people. Keep it up dude!
I would love to spend the cold, winter, MLS-free months meeting up with other forums folks at RD (or anywhere) and messing around with some chants, and otherwise just talking soccer, etc. We have a big enough group on here, made up with lots of different factions, maybe we can make some progress. In any case, would be great to put some more forum-names to faces.
The fb pages are cesspool where lames go to be complete assholes and post the same 5 memes over and over again. If you get it going at pre match meetings or during the games, you'll see people join in. Don't let it discourage you. I like it and it's much better than most of the crap epl chants those clowns love.
I like the idea of a song, but instead of a song paying tribute to the Ramones... why not just sing the Ramones? "Hey! Ho! Let's Go!" is a pretty good ready-made chant, after all.
