Portland and Seattle. Is anyone green besides Portland, and now Austin? We have a lot of blues.
Wanna guess who the goalkeeper was for that home team?since the higher seeded team started hosting MLS cup final, there has only been ONE final where the away team won.
That was in 2015 where portland won 2-1 vs columbus in columbus.

ETA: If you wanna know the answer without spoiling, I just put this on Twitter.

The cards are definitely stacked against us, but I think if we can come out and match/exceed the intensity and get an early goal or two, portland will open up and it'll play right into our hands. Them being a counter attacking team, chanot and callens are gonna have their hands full.
Portland is a good home team, but only 1-2-1 against teams with 50 or more points (both losses to Seattle).
Not counting the playoffs, they were 3-4-1 against playoff teams at home with a goal differential of 0 even with a 6-1 win over RSL.
We're a playoff team with more than 50 points. I'm not saying we should be favored, and our pre-playoff away record is similarly suspect, but Portland's Home record is not all it seems. I also believe the MLS Cup home record is partly because the Home team always has more points and therefore is presumptively better than their opponent in addition to being at home. I don't accept that Portland is better than us. Points are points and I won't argue if you disagree, but I'm confident in that opinion.

The NYCFC/Portland history is not good but here is some very partial but relevant context:
2015 Home Loss - it was 2015, plus Villa was injured and DNP
2016 Away Win - RJ Allen wonder assist
2017 Home Loss - no Villa, Herrera, Ring or Chanot in the lineup
2018 Away Loss - no Herrera, Sweat or Shradi, so lineup not a major excuse. IIRC we were the better team for ~30 minutes but then Portland scored and we kind of collapsed. It also was our first loss of the season after a 5-0-2 start. Maybe might have been right around when the Vieira rumors started? Maybe someone else remembers different or more.
2019 Home Loss - No Mitrita, Sands, Callens, Johnson, Heber, or Shradi
2020 - MLS Is Back Loss - whatever
This is the kind of stuff we need more!

So, basically like every game we play.I expect the Timbers, mainly Chara to hack Maxi, Santi, Medina and Taty the entire game while the PRO stooge keeps the cards in his pockets.
