Losing those four shootouts to win this one is a trade I will make every time.after those penalties....my thought was
Given how things rolled out with Kreis, I think it's likely that Ronny will get to finish the season.
Given how things are going right now, I think it's very unlikely that he does enough to remain employed once the season ends.
TinnerholmWe beat the record-breaking, Supporters' Shield winners, at their stadium, effectively missing 4 starting players.
They had nobody else to write about last night.MLSsoccer doesn't write about NYCFC

As critical as Sean Johnson's penalty save was on Tuesday night, he relished what came after even more.www.mlssoccer.comThree Takeaways from NYCFC's historic playoff win at New England | MLSSoccer.com
Another top-seeded side bit the dust in the Audi 2021 MLS Cup Playoffs Tuesday night, as New York City FC outlasted the New England Revolution in an instant classic at frosty Gillette Stadium that had to be decided by kicks from the spot. Here are three talking points from thewww.mlssoccer.com

I figured you meant one of Gudi, Shradi, and Heber.Gudi.
Yes, he came on for 19' of Extra Time, but I think he counts because we went 101' with his backup, and he hadn't played in over a month.
An MLS ending to this game would be it going six rounds of penalties where Maxi hits Turner in the head, the ball pops up and rolls into the net to give NYCFC the win. Chaos, baby, chaos.
I'm not sure I would count Acevedo as a starting player, unless of course as happened, we are also missing Parks. If everyone is healthy, it's a Parks/Sands midfield.Tinnerholm

I probably don't count him myself - though he started 15 games. But trying to reach Gator's 4, he was an obvious pick.I'm not sure I would count Acevedo as a starting player, unless of course as happened, we are also missing Parks. If everyone is healthy, it's a Parks/Sands midfield.
I saw that too, and had the same reaction. It's both fair, and kind of off point. There also was a bit of clamor for the 2-leg fixture. Who knows how that would play out, but I don't see it helping NE all that much. We would have been home in Game 1. That game never could have gone to extra time, which means no second yellow for Taty to keep him out of game 2, and as it was, we scored 2 away goals. I cannot assume we do worse at home than at Gillette.Reading the Reddit post match thread. Lots of complaints about the bye leading to a 23 day layoff which is a huge a detriment rather then a reward for winning your conference/supporters shield. That’s valid and honestly needs to be looked at. BUT it does bother me that we played the Revs three times this year and pushed them to the limit each time (minus most of the away fixture). We had their number. No one mentions that. Maybe their was some rust, but it’s not unprecedented for us to out play them. Put some respect on our name!!!
Still buzzing! Can’t wait for Sunday! Hoping for the best!!!
