Can we go more than one thread without having it devolve into a "you're an asshole, no you're an asshole" discussion? Seriously annoying. I come onto the forum and see 10 posts - I expect to see 10 posts about some form of discussion. Instead, I get 10 posts of two guys pissing on each other. Leave your personal shit to private messages and keep the actual relevant discussion on the threads.
Honestly, no one is interested in the drama and pissing matches often involving you. At least to a third party observer, it takes away from the enjoyment of this place. Take it to PM please.
Assuming 2 teams from their group B still advance, that got easier. I don't know how you determine whether the Group B third place team qualifies for an at large spot. Giving them an automatic 3 points is too much of an advantage. Giving them anything else is almost a penalty.
Regular season effect depends on whether they can squeeze the 3 missed games in to what will already be a tight schedule.

I was going to say why not just take a team from the 6 team group and move it over, but then I realized that the math of game numbers doesn't work if you do that.

I had the same thought and rejected it for the same reason. It will mess up Group A. Scheduling 3 games round robin for 5 teams is not elegant. Also Group A is all from the East and Group B from the West, and that will likely mess up plans for the rest of the schedule.
If they stay in the bubble after withdrawing, which I doubt, they could potentially play 3 games in Orlando against eliminated teams after group stage, if they were also willing to stay.
Odd, but everything about sports this year is odd so......
just saw an ESPN video on youtube ... some big players are 50/50 not going to show up cause they choose not to. e.g., vela, chicharito...
i think someone said somewhere early in this thread that our maxi was considering not going, but eventually relented. seeing these new cases pop up are probably not making him feel good about that decision.

Do we know what the MLS rules are? Most of the players make much less than baseball players so any dollar losses would be lower yet probably hurt more.
I’m all for individuals doing what they believe they need to do to remain safe. I wonder if they’re allowed just to skip the tournament. I wonder if you need to be in or out altogether. Tournament ends and what happens when players decide they won’t travel to regular games in any states with high current case counts? Besides Florida, Texas and California are up. That’s 25% of the league.

Beyond that, I think they will need to create an additional parallel DL for opt outs, I don't see many games being played this season without opt outs. I'd expect hot spots to shift, so this season, if it goes beyond Florida, is going to be something else.

Well, they're not exactly required -- they could opt out, they just wouldn't get paid.

Thats not true. This is not like the other leagues. Players will face discipline for not playing. This is why you have seen zero players opt out besides those two reasons.
