MLS - May 4 - Cincinnati (CF)

Was the Perea subbed off because of injury? know it was early in the second half, but I assumed it was a tactical change. Was at the stadium so I couldn't tell and didn't hear anything about it postgame personally.

i thought I heard on the broadcast that he was injured, but I wasn't paying 100% attention so I may have misheard. Perhaps they were talking about his ongoing injury but not that he was injured in the game.

Pascal only had one window left and proabably thought the safe path was to get fresh legs to keep the press high.

All of Fernandez's goals have come in transition with the defenders on their back heel.
I wanted to note that this is no longer true. His goal Sunday did not come not in transition. The defense was not exactly well set up, and he benefitted from a fortunate deflection that came his way, but fair is fair.

My biggest takeaway is that Pascal is a phenomenal coach, and we are fortunate to have him. The team came out in a new 3 atb formation, every player knew their role, was sharp and ready to go from the opening whistle. Completely dominated the first 20 min. Had a bit of a drop off when Keaton went off injured again, but the team didn't bunker, kept attacking, and earned the win.

Getting that result with a Keaton injury and our half-baked roster against a team of Cincinnati's quality was very impressive.
We used a very similar formation chasing against Minnesota:

The difference against Cincy was that we went with a box midfield swapping out a striker (Bakrar) for a second attacking midfielder (Perea). Wolf had wingback responsibilities in both on the opposite side of OToole (Min) and A gray (Cin).

Pretty sure they're talking about how we beat Cincinnati who also wear blue and orange (and lost on that night)

Yeah, I don't think ZYanksRule is misunderstanding the meaning. It's just weird and feels overly forced from the NYCFC socials team. Thirsty was a perfect description. The hey look as us too vibes are a little too strong on that one.
