Mls Player Waiver Deadline - Wed, June 30

No DP4 this year (not my desire, just prediction). This gives us an opening for full excitement next summer. We've had our thrill the last month with Pirlo, Iraola, Angelino.

Someone look up who is available on a free in summer 2016.

Imagine AJ and Villa up top. Lampard in behind. Pirlo and Mix pulling the strings. Poku beasting the MF. Angelino and Iraola streaming down the wings. Facey keeping it steady at the back and Brick wall Saunders in net.

MLS Cup, here we come... ;)

What about an MCFC player on loan? Has Negredo been sold yet? Micah Richards?

Since MCFC haven't done any business yet in this window, except losing Milner, I don't know who they could send.

I suspect that the teams have known about whatever it is that will be implemented for some time. I also have a feeling we have another splash signing coming that's been in the works, maybe the young striker random sources keep alluding to.

Some sources seemed to list the actual deadline for cuts as tomorrow.

As if the MLS would adhere to something they've written down anyway. It's all up in the air.
I was thinking they'd want to cut them before practice tomorrow but I guess they can just wait until they show up to the facility and then cut them.

Negredo joined Valencia for $35m
Richards' contract expired and he joined Aston Villa.

Man City business thus far:
In: Enes Unal (Bursaspor-£2m).
Out: Scott Sinclair (Aston Villa-£2.5m), Frank Lampard (New York City-Free), Dedryck Boyata (Celtic-£1.5m), James Milner (Liverpool-Free), Matija Nastasic (Schalke 04-Undisclosed), Micah Richards (Aston Villa-Undisclosed), John Guidetti (Released), Greg Leigh (Released), Adam Drury (Released), Dominic Oduro (Released).

Tomorrow is going to be a HUGE day for us. Frank and Iraola join the team. Some current players might be cut. It's Pirlo day. We find out about the new DP and salary cap.

Seriously, never a dull moment with this team.

You guys act like the MLS is the Emperor before anyone knows he's a Sith.

MLS is an LLC with members who vote on their operating agreement. If this change was made, the owners (shareholders) had their say and this is what the voting majority wanted.

Does it really matter to you as a fan whether or not they tell you who voted how? Do you demand a public accounting of votes for how European teams decide to spend?

I think it's silly to criticize attempts to grow the league profile and quality while maintaining financial viability. Isn't that what everyone wants?

For the record, I wasn't criticizing. Just saying that any of these rules could be changed in the rumored update tomorrow. It's a fact that MLS rules are changed frequently, whether that goes through an official process is irrelevant.

Btw, last year there was only one player released on June 30, and four players released on July 1. Maybe there just aren't that many guys on semi-guaranteed contracts anymore, so this deadline isn't really that significant.

It's not irrelevant. A process is all you can ask for - would you rather rigidity dictate the league pass up opportunities to improve?
