Because I know you’ve all been missing these.

Subs: Taty, GMS, TheJesus, Keaton, Nico, Cavani, Gedion, Rocha, Scally, Thor, Ibby, Stoove

Looking at that bench ... it is crazy how stacked we are. You could put (most of) those players into our XI and we're still one of the top teams in the league. Just keep Maxi and Heber on the field.

Another season where we can't get all 3 DPs in the starting lineup. mgarbowski mgarbowski you still keeping count?
I guess so. Been a long time since I had to think about it. But we've yet to have a season where at least 1 DP doesn't miss at least 10 games. More cleanly but less poetic: We've never had a season where 3 DPs each played at least 25 games.

Number of games played by least active DP:
2015 10 Lampard
2016 19 Lampard
2017 13 Pirlo
2018 23 Villa
2019 18 Medina

Putting aside 2015 when CFG and Ferran Soriano basically sabotaged us by intentionally delaying 2 DPs until summer,* the worst year for total DP games was 2017 with 72 (70.6% of 102), and worst total minutes was last year 2019 with 5,291 (57.6% of 9,180).

* Would have been a good move if Covid-19 hit 5 years ago.

Crazy to think how 2018 the least was Villa with 23. That year should have and easily could have been our year. But we had to go and lose it to Atlanta, when I still think we were the better team in that tie :(

He's been the most active of NYCFC players on social media regarding the health concerns of the tournament. I'm not aware that he has any children, nor that his wife is pregnant. I'm further not aware of any underlying medical conditions.

But I fully support his decision to stay home for his family and his own health and safety.

Though I will be honest and say if it were a player who was more of a key contributor to the team opting out, I would have mixed feelings.

NYCFC Goalkeeper Brad Stuver did not travel to Orlando due to a personal matter. League Pool Goalkeeper Charlie Lyon will train with the team while in Orlando.

Interesting observations about player position listings:
- Sands as a midfielder
- Medina as a midfielder

Sands as DM makes sense; that's the position I see him in in the future - his distribution is phenomenal.
Medina as a midfielder, I think I remember mentioning somewhere that I wonder if Deila is going to try him as a midfielder. It sure looks like he's going to try it, and I hope for everyone's sake it works because this is probably his last chance...

Stuver gotta do what he thinks is best for his safety and his family.

So we're working out with Lyon in case Johnson or Barraza get hurt I guess?

Last I knew, the pool keeper permanently trained with FCD, so with them out, it's easy to put him with the first team that goes down to 2 keepers.

Im not gonna lie....im PUMPED for this game! As we get closer, im more and more excited. I'm even excited about the odd start time, actually works great for me.
I also appreciate more and more the sacrifice the players are going through to put on a show for us! I can't wait to watch.
