I figured this was the place to put this little tidbit. I inadvertently pissed my girlfriend off with this move, but in Columbus I sold my #beaniegate hat for $80 while drunk at the bar. I'm only mad that I didn't get 100 for it. 80 bucks for a winter hat... Good move or bad move?

Can I suggest fabric glue? Will work very well, especially given that you're unlikely to wash it.

i didnt want to say anything but since you brought it up, im not sure why he didnt just heat press it... the stitching kind of kills it

Maybe it’s the HD camera on the phone. But you don’t notice the stitching at all in person. Have to look really close.

I'm pretty sure heat pressing would fail because the patch would almost start immediately pulling away because it is flat and the cap front is curved. Good fabric glue with a heat gun would last longer but still fail.

But I need to confer with my 13-year old craft whiz daughter for the expert opinion.

Yeah, the seam in the cap fabric would make that bond unstable and open to shear, too.

I would have doubled down on the stitching and made the gauge a lot tighter so it's just a visually unbroken stitch.

Also it's a little off-center.

I agree. I paid $8.50 to the tailor at the dry cleaner for that half-ass job. But wasn’t going to make they re-do it. It’s not like their skills will improve with a 2nd try. But like i said, you don’t notice in person.
