Club is offering a package for the Arizona trip that includes a "social" with the team. Ice cream and bobby socks come to mind.

The whole thing continues to bum me out. I am going to Arizona that week for an extended stay with Mrs. Gotham's family, but I am arriving the day after the first game and leave early the day of the second game, and there is nothing announced in between.

It's funny. On the Florida Gator boards I frequent, I am always "Gotham". Here, I am always "Gator". Doesn't really bother me one way or another.

Maybe I will just call her "Mrs. G" (she is actually "Dr. G", but that would be confusing in context).

True, not many options to fly direct, my wife used to live there and we go back every couple years to see friends. For those making the trip that want to fly direct the drive down from Phoenix isn't bad, under 2 hours all expressway. Flights from NYC to PHX are usually pretty reasonable.

Yeah, I have family in Tucson, and they always fly through Phoenix. That's always your better bet.

I really want to go but I have to debate how much I'm going to freakin' spend on this club year to year. I need a third job that pays.

I think it is only worth it if you are going to make a real vacation out of it. Get away from the snow, enjoy the warm weather, play golf, visit a national park, etc. Accomodations that time of year can be pretty expensive, but the hotel offer in the package is not too bad.

Also, Vegas is just a reasonable drive away from Phoenix.

But if I could I would go to the emelec game in ecuador and take in some surfing after the game at motanita beach...
