Most definitely. Thats our biggest issue. But MLS teams almost never sign defenders or even defensive midfielders as DPs.You're rightjaycrewz . Would you use a DP for a true central defender?
Our greatest weakness right now is the backline. It would also help having a creative yet defensively sound midfielder. Heck, Id love one of the USMNT defenders on this team. Imagine Demarcus Beasley on the wings? He would be infinitely better than our fullbacks right now, who are slow and constantly beat near the touchline.
The man has been running up and down the wings for USMNT for over a decade. The last few years hes shown how good he is defending, and he adds good attacking ability up the wings. All we see from our attackers is crosses into the stands lol
