NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

Definitely not what I had in mind. He would be a great second striker with Villa, though. He’s really technical, but he never gets to show it with NER.
Exactly I was shocked to see how good he was a t the Gold Cup. Looked better than I've seen Jozy in a long time.

We allowed the 5th-fewest goals in the league this season. Defense really wasn't the problem this year.

Hence why I am also backing
A Yaya signing.

He’s polarizing for certain MCFC fans as well but he turned that around, as I posted previously, but he can make things happen and we could certainly use his skills.

Ozil and a host of other top players who are excellent attackers are known as mostly one way players. Even Aguero was, yet under Pep they changed. Wenger is not that type of manager.

On the other hand I trust Vieira can manage Yaya as he will command his respect like Pep does. Pellegrini did not and it showed across the team, not just with Yaya (I’d add Kun to that list) look at KDB he has transformed under Pep as a hard working two way player and Vieira is the heir apparent in a few seasons.

Front Office: Someone float a Yaya rumor so we can get a feeling of how he'd go over with the fan base, while were at it let's see if we can get away with bringing him in mid season

And while we're being pissed about things, can someone please explain how we managed to not end up with Rusnack?

That guy is a player. Lots of folks around here were clamoring for him to join year 1 (several of the MCFC partisans anyway, so not me, I didn't know him.)

The precedent is set. We don't get quality players from MCFC, only players on their way there (Herrera) or towards the end of their career (Lampard, Toure)

You can't make a player go where he doesn't want to be. He was refusing to sign a new contract in Manchester so he had to be sold or he would've gone for free in summer 2015.

Your facts do not mitigate my desire to incite additional anger over rumo(u)red and/or hypothetical signings or lack thereof.

eta: See, this example from DRoy is how it should be done. ABCs of fandom. Always. Be. Cynical. Then you can't get hurt. Or at least you can say I told you so when you are.

Ah, sorry, that's my bad. Let me try again.

It was all a vicious CFG plot all along! Rusnak was willing to sign a contract but they paid him to go to Groningen, knowing that it would make us more desperate and willing to accept Yaya. How incredibly cunning and duplicitous!

Angelino was considered a top MCFC prospect when he was loaned out. He didn't perform well, and so I think MCFC were concerned it hindered his development so I suspect that might have affected their feelings about sending top prospects, but I don't think it is set in stone that this will be what happens.

If CFG really wants to pretend like they care about us, they'd have given us Nasri last year, asshole that he is.

LOL.

Nasri would have never come here. He didn't even want to play for MCFC last season under Pep, who wanted him to stay even when he was way out of shape, if he worked hard to get back into the side. Nasri refused and wanted out, to Sevilla.

After that they were done with him, and I can see why. Nasri was kicked off his national team, and was alleged to have had I.V. drip treatment in the U.S.A. last summer which is against FIFA rules. Great talent, poor character.

Yaya is 1000 times a better character and motivated player than Nasri is (he responded well to Pep's man management last season, which no one I am reading who is against Yaya coming seems to want to recognize actually happened).

Not going to lie, since fantasy is accepted in this thread, I want Tyler Adams.

And part of the reason I want him is part of the reason it would never happen. That kid is balls out all the time.

If you didn’t watch RBNJ late in the year, you missed the emergence of an all-around menace who delivered a lot of great final balls.

As an alternative, I will accept RBNJ selling him to Europe, pdq.

ETA: yes, Europe. I’m not picky.

Once he adds 10-15 pounds of muscle he will be one of the most imposing players in the US player pool.
