NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

With TAM, I'm sensing more and more than it will all be spent on Martin DeMechelis. Only question is whether he joins this winter or in the Summer.

Followed by YaYa Toure joining as a DP next summer.
Yaya and Poku would be two mean mother fckers that other teams wouldn't be able to take the ball away from when they're dribbling

Do we have enough TAM to sign someone like Demechelis?

Definitely need a CB even with the addition of Ethan White.

Definitely need a LW because I can't see Macnamara succeeding there (and I like Macnamara)

I would be cool using TAM to get two proven starters at these positions.
Um. El Capitan.

Front 6:
Villa - Mullins - Poku
Lampard - Pirlo - Mix

Upgrade the 2 CBs. Add depth/competition at LB. If you still have money left add a CF to compete with Mullins. But unless I'm mistaken Villa has been known to hold his own at LW.

Jermaine Jones. Someone posted this on r/MLS and I wanted to write this out. NYCFC sign him hopefully at a discount because of his age and being an asshole. But Jermaine Jones is suspended for 6 games and can't play with the USMNT until they are served. We loan him out to Melbourne City so he can sit for six games in January before the MLS season starts in March also allowing him to play for the USMNT.

The USMNT fan in me never wants him to sign with a team so he can't serve his suspension and play for America again. But as an NYCFC fan, if we can pickup a defensive midfielder at a good price, he's 34, but he's good in MLS.

He won't go from 6 Mil to whatever he'd get with us.

I think he was actually at 3 mill, but even then, I doubt we could get him to around a mil which would mean using all the TAM on him. Don't think that is worth it.

A name I would like to suggest is Victor Ibarbo. He has struggled in the Prem with Watford and never made too much of an impact at Roma. His contract is up in June and hopefully he will be looking for a change in scenery. He would instantly transform our attack. His current contract (as of 2012 at least) had him only make 150,000 Euros a year. We could give a good pay day of around 500-600k a year with TAM, and he would instantly transform our attack from slow to the fastest in MLS. Realize this isn't likely, but with the amount of Colombians in MLS, why not?

Victor Ibarbo makes less than Mena or Wingert?

Ibarbo may give speed but in his best season he produced 6 goals. Why do you think he would breakout here in a meaningful way (especially at 550k)? Honest question.

Somehow unless he is under a new contract but last I saw he was under contract from 2010- June 2016.

Edit: did a little more research. That 150k was from 2012, he currently makes 750k. We could afford that with TAM, but I realize this is probably a reach.
