NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

Depth is always good. Assuming we have two deeper mids again (Pirlo and [Jacobson's Replacement]) that leaves four spots for the attack.
Our currently rostered options should be Villa, Lampard, Poku, Mix, Mullins, Shelton, and McNamara. Lampard can be penciled in to miss a few games due to injury, and will likely often require a substitution at 60' again. So let's say Lampard and Poku are in a timeshare at CAM.
Mix is likely to miss a handful of games due to national team duty again. Also, while Pirlo is out for 5 weeks playing in the Euros, Mix could be needed to slide deeper into his spot.
Finally, you have Mullins, Shelton, and McNamara who have shown some good play, but are not so good that they're irreplaceable in the lineup.
I think at the very least, another striker is brought in. The player Nemec was supposed to be. If we go into next year with just Villa and Mullins up front, that seems like asking for trouble again.
Secondly, if you can grab a high upside young player like Boakai, you probably should. Mix and McNamara are a bit out of position on the wings. Shelton has shown promise, but is far from great yet. Boakai would be excellent competition and could be molded to play in a number of spots up front.

Magee was accommodated by Galaxy in the Robbie Rogers switch.
For one season, it looked like Galaxy got the worst of that deal.
Can't say that any more.
The dude can't stay healthy.
Plus he made such a big deal about going home to Chicago.
Why would I want him on my side?

hey guys, reading this morning that Van Persie unhappy at this new club...wonder when his contract runs out there. I suspect he can be had at a very low price point given his age...if he still has some gas left in the tank....can never forget his goal against Spain in the world cup.
Van Persie should have never gone to Turkey but that's the only place that would pay his wages. He can't stay on the field.
When he does stay healthy, he's still a world class striker. He's 32 - so in the age range of an MLS former star - but he'll make $6 Million here.

Nah, can't pay him $6MM anymore, not worth it. But $2MM is a steal, I am all for it. Imagine how the Yankee stadium goes to nuts when he scores a world class goal....i am day dreaming again

Spanish CDM and La Maisa product Oriol Rosell formerly of SKC and now in Portugal is a player I think would be awesome for NYCFC.

How the hell does la get around all these rules. Crazy, would think he would be askin for dp money. He was awesome at sporting. Would be a huge get for any mls team

Well in this case LA has a legit excuse to be a front runner for something. They traded last year to move up the allocation list but never used it, since then most teams ahead of them have used their spot thus allowing LA to move up.
Still rather have Rosell in NYCFC. Think the La Masia connection helps us?

No idea how reliable that is.
Galaxy need defenders or TAM though, and we don't have either. Not sure what we would trade them for the allocation spot.
How about Mix to SKC, Opara to LA, and Rosell to NYC? Saves us a couple hundred thousand in allocation money that otherwise would have went to Mix, and frees up an additional couple bucks of cap space assuming Rosell is paid slightly less than the max.
