NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

Realistically kitchen is an impronable get for any mls team. Dc wont trade him.

Okugo is realistic and a decent player.
Besides Kitchen, Trapp is another probably impossible CDM that would be great for NYCFC. Although Trapp might be a touch too short.

I agree that Okugo is a decent DM that's doing nothing at SKC. However he is letting his contract run out so he can go abroad next year. So he might be a complicated pickup.

Maybe the solution is outside of MLS.

How long does the cba last for btw? Really hoping for another dp slot or two for the next one.
I honestly think it's irrelevant.

If the "investor/operators" (a/k/a owners) and the league want another DP slot, I don't see the CBA being a mechanism working against it. Same for the salary cap and free agency.

Addendum:
Let's not forget that not all clubs use all three DP slots, primarily because it costs them money: for the slot and for the player. What motivation is there for those clubs to want a fourth DP slot?

No but the money to pay for them comes out of the CBA agreement. If they add another DP slot I hope they increase the cap.
One thing about DPs is that the more you have the less slots there are for "regular" players. DPs may be good for the teams, the league, and the fans but I'm not 100% sure the players would necessarily want more of them.

Point taken.

Yes, although on the balance, the sheer number of new expansion clubs flooding in makes it less likely that established players (of the type who are actually good enough to deserve to be there) will get pushed out.

we can also go for cole grossman. with bradley likely to head to molde, things can be getting shaken up at stabaek.

other possibilities,
-michael orozco, we can try him out at cdm if we get desperate.
- Bobby warshaw
- fernando arce.

really hoping we get okugo though.

If the teams win with more DP's the average player will make more. In a city like NY , a Calle or Shelton can pick up an extra $25,000- $50,000 easy I would think

Not necessarily.

I'm not sure if the DP slot impacts on the salary cap are part of the CBA but it's very possible there's a maximum amount that DP players can count towards the cap. However, it would be in the best interest of all players to allow the owners to reduce the impact of DP slots/additional DP slots on the cap.

So while it wouldn't surprise me if the players added that the DP slots can't account for more than a million dollars of the salary cap, I'd bet the owners still hold the right to just reduce the hit each DP slot has on the salary cap whenever they like.

So the owners could decide 4 DP slots at $250k each as opposed to the 3 DP slots at $330k. Granted, just speculation, but it's speculation that's based around the facts we know.

None of those are even as good as Jacobsen. Why go backwards?

Cole Grossman? Yeah, he has been decent in Norway but he couldn't even start in MLS.

Orozco I would be cool with trying. I like what he brings to the table and he is certainly a better option at his position than our other defenders besides Iraola.
Bobby Warshaw isn't even the top division in Europe. Just because he plays in Europe doesn't ≠ better than MLS.
Fernando Arce is old. Do we really need more of that?

Agree with Magnus for the most part. We need players better than Jacobson. Not worse than him.

back up. we need depth as well. Jacobson goes down what decent defensive mids do we have?

fernando arce jr is fernando arce's son. He is playing for Tijuana. Not much experience, very young but why not.

who owns orlando? where does this money come from first offering like 10 million to chicharito and now trying to get Cristiano. why didnt they try to get superstars right after Kaka was announced. Plus are their DP spots filled?
Flávio Augusto da Silva who's net worth is estimated to be around $446 Million. Not enough cash to buy CR lol.

EDIT: That being said I think he's a great owner in this league. Def not afraid to splash cash and does a really good job with that franchise.
