NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

And that, in a nutshell, summarizes US nat OG's current form. "We'll basically pay you to get his salary off our books."
OG never, ever should have been offered such a large salary.... that was a landmine that LA was going to eventually step on when taking out the trash.

An unnamed MLS club has made an offer to Cani:

It sounds like something we would do, sign a 34-year-old European to build out a 4-3-3 formation. Probably a friend of Villa's. Would assume it would be a TAM signing. And it would be disappointing to spend that TAM anywhere but CB. Won't be happy with another Facey-Hernandez-Mena rotation.

EDIT: Villa and Cani did in fact play together at Real Zaragoza during the 03/04 and 04/05 seasons. Villa had 32 goals during those seasons and Cani had 6 and 2 assists. Cani was a part-time starter.

Ugh... is this another Alvarez-type signing where Villa needs a buddy to fill out his entourage??? Tell me Cani doesn't mean Turtle in Spanish.....

The Galaxy "had" to pay
him to stay for PR reasons. Fans overrate and fall in love with USMNT players and cry that that teams should do everything to keep them.
The whole thing was a joke including the outcome....

Won't happen until we open up a DP slot, but since everybody and their grandmother outside of the city hates all-things NYCFC, and we're public-enemy number one, then we might as well go all in and sign the vampire Luis Suarez. He's a pure goal scorer, and while I personally think the guy is unstable and a sociopath, all great geniuses in history had a serious character flaw - his just happens to be a fondness for human sweat & possibly flesh. He'd be Giovinco on steroids and every CB in the league would have nightmares leading up to the games - that and they'd need to make sure they've got their rabies vaccination. And at 28, he is EXACTLY the kind of DP we need.

It would be tough to get Cani without giving him DP money, which I don't think he is good enough for. He made 1.5 million euros in 2014 and while idk what he is making with his current team, i'd guess it is around there.

With rumors that the LAG are going to sign Ashley Cole, I wonder what their plans are for Robbie Rogers going forward. If Cole slides in at LB, not sure whether they might look to deal Rogers. He would be a great addition here at a position of need.

whatever you were having, brother, fork over some! every coach/club president would like to have the vampire in spite of his personal flaws. Liverpool did a disservice to the rest of soccer world by panic selling him cheap to Barca, whose attacking line became the most dominant and fearsome ever known to mankind with the addition of vampire. The only club, a side topic btw, can come close to challenging Barca is Bayern, a match I hope the soccer God would reserve for the championship finale. Anyway, back to our pipe dream, having LS would be more than ridiculous. I bet more than a few fans here would be willing to sell their moms to get him. But that will remain a dream for now. Wake me up when you get the money and MLS rules altered in our favor :)

It's okay, we're getting Messi who is even better...in hopefully 4 years.
