NYCFC Players Wanted Thread

Wow. Didn't realize he was making that much money. Had (has?) a ton if potential. Makes no sense he was making that salary to me.

Khedira would be silly to join the season before a World Cup.

We would be silly to sign him with our current midfield expenditures.
Totally agree, with what we've spent on the midfield, out next DP is looking more and more like a forward.

I'm not sure when DV7 is going to fall off a cliff in terms of production, but his age says way sooner than later.

If we signed him his summer, and I'm still skeptical it seems more like a long term post Pirlo play rather than an actual back half of the season need. If we think of him as a Pirlo replacement it makes more sense.

Part of the reason I figured he would go ahead and move is that he's already been told that he's more or less done with Die Mannschaft or he's pulling a Milner and saving his legs even though he could still contribute.

I don't know if he makes that squad anyway. Gundogan, Kroos, Can might be (likely are) ahead of him in the same position. And you'd still have Weigl, Kimmich and Bender that all likely could pass him by then. And that's just the top defensive-ish mids I could name off the top of my head. Damn - that doesn't include Dahoud, who is really good and young. (also, now that I though more, add Goretzka here as a potential contributor)

Still have Ozil, Draxler, Mueller, Gotze (okay, he sucks, whatevs), Brandt as an option when you want attacking mids. And wide guys like Reus and Sane. Gnabry, too. (and adding Max Meyer as well)

Anyway, you can't start more than 6 of those guys (adding that it could be only 5, as I could see Werner claiming the striker role, meaning they would only play with 5 mids instead of 6 we see so often from them). So I don't think he's close to a lock (which might support your point), or just as likely, he's been put to pasture either by Lowe or himself.
