just curious - did anybody make it out to the adidas flagship store event? I was thinking I would swing by but forgot all about it! Would have been nice to talk to some players and find out any injury updates directly from jones and parks.

blankets passed out to the first 500 fans lol
You joke but I remember in the early years when Pitchside was first opened up for those cold March games there would actually be Etihad blankets (same ones from the business class cabins) as giveaways. I still have two in my apartment.

Transfer market. No other consideration was given to anything else. Just CFG’s transfer market
I wonder if the scheduling restraints with the Mets play a role in their thinking as well? They can have 5-6 months of no conflicts, and then utilize the summer off-season (or close-season as they say in Manchester) to host lucrative concerts and euro/mex friendlies.

There is something incompetent about being the last northern climate MLS team to build an open air stadium before maybe switching to a Fall to Spring schedule, possibly in the very year the stadium opens, and after a decade plus in borrowed stadiums.
To be fair the Revs might have the chance to do so after the switch, so there's that.

His point, which I think is a little naive, is that we would host games through mid november, play our final few games before the winter break on the road, restart in February on the road, then come back home in March.

His point was that we host playoffs in November, so why is this different.

It's naive of him because playoffs are different. They come for playoffs, would people come to early season games?

See I think this is totally fine. The seats will be covered from rain. The temps will be a bit cold for a few games but so what, wear your coat and hat. Get a hot chocolate. It's like going to a football game. Well worth the benefits of synching with the Euro/global calendar. Am I in the minority on this?

I'm with you. Wear a coat, hat, mittens. Get a hot drink and bring a blanket. It can be a fun experience. People sit through much worse going to NFL games in wide open stadiums and they still pack stadiums because it's the experience.

I don't see what the big deal is. I think it'd be much worse if we had to do it in YS, but in our stadium, wind chill and rain won't be major factors.

November isn't even cold. Daily high temperatures are mostly 59°F to 50°F, outer range of 38°F to 69°F. Daily low temperatures are mostly 47°F to 38°F, outer range of 28°F to 56°F.

I mostly don't even button my coat or jacket until late December or sometimes January.

I've warmed up to the schedule flip.

Ditto on these. I was opposed to the change, but now I'm sold on it. The only real drawback is the possibility of snow in November or March, and in very rare instances April. But that can be worked around by building some flex into the schedule to accommodate delayed matches.

There's the matter of competing with other sports, too. But that con is outweighed by the pros of having transfer windows aligned globally.
