i haven't seen any pics of him training with the team so I am guessing that means he'll be returning to field training with the team for the oct. 18 game?

can't imagine him playing or even being part of the 18. but sounds like his second surgery went well and he can start his comeback story next season.

he's not, according to MLS's MVP power rankings by Kljestan.

I don't think he's an MVP candidate either though. He needs more influence on games if he wants to get in that conversation.

I think Nico will be an MVP candidate for us in the future seasons. Ever since his arrival and starting to play, the team seems to perform differently and somehow ojeda and fernandez are finding some form. more argentian influence? once nico plays as the primary 10, i think his influence will grow even more.

I said that without even looking at the stats lol, but ya even without Messi there are a ton of other players who are more deserving it.

...It's just that Martinez has been pivotal and I don't think we'd be nearly where we are now if we didn't have him, and that's - at least - team MVP level stuff.

I meant what ZYanksRule said in my original post.

The second comment was saying I think he's definitely deserving to be in the conversation for league mvp even if he's at the back of it because we would NOT be where we are without him (mvp ... most valuable player...) ... but in terms of team mvp he is definitely #1 or #2 for me.

While he definitely didn't perform up to the DP level, he was definitely an underrated player, especially down the stretch in 2021. We don't win the cup without him.
