Nice to see Angelino look so confident. I can see this lad quickly becoming a favourite amongst the fans.
Put me on the Angelino bandwagon. I couldn't believe how confident and poised he was for an 18 year old

Brilliant little player we have there (on loan). I love his confidence and his skill. He also has extremely good vision. People like Wingert should be ashamed of themselves that they get a paycheck for riding an 18-yr olds coat tails. Would take 5-6 more just like him. Just a joy to watch.Put me on the Angelino bandwagon. I couldn't believe how confident and poised he was for an 18 year old
Before the game, Kreis was on the steps of the dugout with a baseball in his hands no less when I said to him, "Jason, are we going to foul Giovinvo the entire game again?" He replied, "Never." A comical exchange, first time he actually spoke to fans before a game, I guess he was happy. Following the game as he walked into the tunnel I said to him, "Jason, the refs won today." Not looking back he gave me the thumbs up. Also, I told Angelino, "Never go back to Manchester, stay here forever." He smiled. Overall thoughts:
- Giovinco is a great player, and against a terrible defense he's an amazing player. A real gift in the MLS, though when not playing against us.
- The first 20 minutes were maybe the best 20 minutes we've every played. Strong possession, Toronto never got deep into the attack. After that it just went downhill. We had 63% overall possession And only in four of the 5' intervals did Toronto lead, but barely. When they attacked it was quick and lethal especially against a defense trapped down to the electric chair.
- Kwame is not our CB, Hernandez should be in the spot unfortunately he is injured. That atrocious tackle inside the box was the low of the year for this club. That should be the last play of his career. #KutKwame #ComeOnClaudio
- When Kwame went off for Angelino, Wingert had to move to CB, and he cannot play that position for his life.
- I don't know how David Villa does it...it's baffling. However, he did miss that wide open chance in the beginning.
- Mullins should have two goals. A deflection off a shot isn't an own goal.
- Angelino is like Poku, going to be an awesome player. Dude has speed, skill, talent.
- Poku: Please shoot quicker, lift up your head and go for it. If that pass connected in the 90', we would have won the game. I don't know who would have scored, but it would have gone into the back of the net. It was coming.
- Iraola, good game. However, he gave up that ball to Giovinco which led to the 4th goal for Toronto. Obviously we should have better defending but god almighty we do not.
- What is Ballouchy and Grabavoy doing on the field for so long. I don't know a formation that would work with Villa, Mullins, McNamara, Jacobson, Lampard, Pirlo (with subs Khiry and Poku), but those players need to be on the field together.
- Even though we had the comeback for 1 point, still feels like a letdown. We need to be winning these games to get into the playoffs.
He does have those balls. And he plays like it. I fucking love this kid already. He's right up my alley. I love people who let their dicks swing. He definitely does that.If I had the balls of Angelino, I would buy a 69 shirt and wear it publicly. Unfortunately, I do not.
Agreed with that. You can see the seeds of something exciting with him and it is the first match so we cannot put much stock in it, but he wasn't that impressive today in my mind. For all the praise for Iraola, you were the only person to make note of the fact that he was almost solely responsible for Toronto's fourth goal and that's simply unacceptable. I do not think his debut was a good one.
Tiger, I'll say that I sit right on the wing where I have watched all of our fullbacks shit the bed over the course of the year.I think your analysis is spot on. The first 20 minutes were bliss and I felt really good about a W and to be honest we should've been up 3-0. Who knew that missing a wide open net that early would've been a difference maker.
Kwame is awful, no if, ands or buts about it. The defensive back line was a complete joke and we were ripped to shreds because of it. For all the praise for Iraola, you were the only person to make note of the fact that he was almost solely responsible for Toronto's fourth goal and that's simply unacceptable. I do not think his debut was a good one.
Iraola looks promising. Dangerous going forward. He did have a couple pretty bad touches this game though that hurt us... Just gotta shake the rust off I guess.
Wingert is just SOOOO mediocre it's painful to watch. KWS not good.
Angelino is exciting to watch. Lots of potential there.
Climb aboard!! I have already changed my avatar!!Put me on the Angelino bandwagon. I couldn't believe how confident and poised he was for an 18 year old

At least in the first half when he was in front of me, he managed to do more on both sides of the ball than the others have done in all other games combined.
He was such an improvement that I couldn't find fault with him even when I should have. I know, that's a fault on my part because I pride myself in giving no free passes. But by god, he was SOOOOOOOOO much better than what I was used to seeing. I can't criticise him. I'm overwhelmed with joy over not seeing The Brash Bros out there.
He was solid in defense and going forward. He some really slick touches to get us out of trouble and keep the ball out of Wingding and KWS's hands. Don't sleep on that. He didn't. He definitely took risks to keep the ball away from this incompetent assholes. Therefore, I love him even more.
Not to go all sandlot on you, but I'm gonna go all sandlot on you:Just watch the recap and still think Iraola should've been better. He looks promising though, and I still like how he gets forward.
The highlights of the Toronto goals really showed how bad KWS was. He was involved in all of them (though really the 4th has to be on Iraola). What was KWS thinking with that penalty?
I'm in 215, so my closest watching of him was in the first half. He definitely seemed to be pressing up higher in the 2nd half. I took it as him pushing for the win. I'll take aggressive positioning and confident touches all day. It beats the hell out of out of position and shit passing a la KWS and Wingding.I think you sit directly above me. 205 was it? I'm in 107 so I feel ya. I moved around a bit today because I couldn't handle the sun but I digress.
I'm being a bit harsh but he was responsible for that fourth goal, lost his man and couldn't keep up with him. I don't know if it was our formation or what but we were completely left completely open down the middle. The defense was glaringly bad, some of the worst we've seen this season. Maybe Iraola doesn't deserve the blame for tactics but I can only go by what I see.
