That's why I just stick to here. We're all like minded individuals and enjoy the team. Same people that were here when we lost/drew 7+ straight are still here now. Just a bit more excited and optimistic before.
I've been told by a number of individuals that the club reads the forums and keeps tabs on us.
Having 1500 members provides then a good idea of where fans stand and if we were vocal about certain deficiencies it's possible they may have taken notice. Who knows there might be an RSL exodus.
I love it here. I missed the forums most of all while I was away last week. No circle jerks.

Reading some of those comments on the various twitter posts, it's clear as day that people have not seen him play. The ignorance is astounding.

They think he can only pass and take free kicks...he is so much more and it's the little things that make him special. I was watching the NYCFC/TFC game and thinking about it. There are too many times when we are playing from the back that we get midfield and it stops. A lot of these guys do not know how to anticipate the open spot to put themselves in. Anyone that has watched Pirlo play will know that he has a huge contribution to the possession game when he is off the ball too. He just doesn't watch his mates with the ball...he reads the defense and becomes a safe an reliable outlet. Not sure if I am conveying it correctly, but I know you get it.

I liked the way Villa played last game as the single striker. We play a 4-2-3-1 with Jacobson and Pirlo sitting in front of the backline. Twellman was complaining about needing runners in the midfield if you have Pirlo and Lampard so you have Mix out wide where he plays for the NT and Calle or Ballouchy/Grabavoy/Alvarez/McNamara/Velasquez/Shelton on the opposite side. Both Iraola and Angelino will provide width moving forward and will send in plenty of crosses in for Villa and Lampard

My only quibble with this is that aren't most Italian-American families into their 2nd, 3rd or even 4th generations now? Wouldn't that diminish somewhat for them?

I think you're right for 3rd and 4th gen. 1st and 2nd generations are usually the folks who follow the national team and Serie A, so they know about Pirlo. The thing is, NYC is filled with a ton of 1st and 2nd folks.

This is going to make a good chunk of the Italian-American communities to start paying attention to MLS.

I like it. But I'm interested to see what angelino can do in an advanced position. I would like to see him in place of calle, and have calle or wingert play left back. And when poku gets fit, he should without a doubt be in the starting 11.
I have a good feeling about a pirlo to poku connection for quite a few goals.

It would seem as though all the pieces for an mls cup title are here. It is just a matter of putting these players together in a way that works.

Also, i may be wrong but if pirlo joins, doesn't that make us the only team in mls to ever field TWO world cup winners ?

The way most of us bashed Calle in his midfield endeavors... to see him back at LM, it's interesting. I thought I had heard that Angelino may be able to play there, too.

Imagine George John and Khiry come back strong (add Mullins, Tommy Mac, etc.) we will have some productive bench pieces as well.

I can't wait to get George John into the fold. Curious to see if he can steal a spot in the 11. If he gets back to his old form, no doubt he will. He is one of the beset center backs in the league on his game imo. Goal scoring threat on set pieces too I might add.

Since we are at it lol...I am a 4-1-4-1 believer with this team...We have a stacked midfield, let's utilize them. Looking at this lineup, we will have the subs and a fairly strong bench.

Jacobson for Pirlo,
Mullins for Villa,
Ballouchy for Lampard,
Shelton for Mix
Mac for Calle
And...so on, you get the idea.

Lampard and Poku can alternate runs. Mix and Calle controlling the wings. Pirlo sitting so deep as a CDM, his is almost another CB, gives Facey and Hernandez an outlet and also gives protection so Iraola/Angelino can make runs. They'll have the ability to move it up to Calle/Mix, go inside to Poku/Lamp or drop it back down to Pirlo.
