I'd have liked to see Jason Adenauer out here, but he went to Celtic on loan and has been impressing; resulting in his first call up for the Belgium national side at around 18/19. Other than that, most of our best youth players are out on loan, so Iheanacho looks the best bet. He needs an exceptional talent work permit, so I could see him coming out to NYCFC to develop for a while. Playing first team, MLS football at only 18 would be great for his development.

Hiwula and Cole are just on loan until January. So maybe one fo them could go

I would prefer Hiwula as he is 20 now and he needs to be playing first team games

I would think that Kreis in his 6 month stay in Manchester has already identified the players he wants. I believe he can take up to 4 (but he won't take that many).

Correct - because you have to worry about international slots as well. Two have been filled by Lampard and Villa. Maybe a third depending on the Ecuadorian CB decision.

I think one guy I would like a lot is Terrence Boyd who will probably be a USMNT regular. He is a striker in the bundisliga 2 and I like him a lot. I bet we could buy him from RB Leipzig for about 2 million.

How do you guys rate him and if he's worth it, how could we bring him in?

Well Kreis knows him and he has a high ceiling. He currently starts for the U23 Mexican National Team.

Not sure that he is angling for a move to be reunited with Kreis in MLS. Probably wants to go back to Mexico. Not good for RSL in any case. What is their GM doing or saying to the players?

Before today he was probably close to being RSL's new starting defender with Nat Borchers getting older.

Another argument to attempt such a signing and I agree with every word of it. Added a few remarks in the comments myself...

Just noted that the author is Zac Wassink who wrote a disparaging article on Empire of Soccer some time back.

Balotelli could come to us on a free and start scoring goals using Jedi mind tricks and I still wouldn't want him anywhere near us. The guy is toxic in a locker room.

Interesting article. Thanks for sharing. I haven't a clue as to whether or not NYCFC could ever pull that off, but Balotelli would be epic on so many fronts.

The kid has been under pressure and the spotlight for years, so who knows? Maybe a change of scenery and coming to the USA where he wouldn't be under such intense scrutiny might help him mature. He could come here for several years, dominate, make some good money and still be young enough to cash in big time if Europe comes a callin' at the end of his contract.

They said a change of scenery would help when he went to Manchester. And when he went back to Milan. And when he went to Liverpool. I seriously doubt bringing him to the MLS would do anything other than exacerbate the issue.

I don't mind Balotelli. He's been a bit unlucky in his time with my "other" club. I feel almost certain that he'd have several goals in not for Sturridge going down. It's not like it's just Mario not scoring. It's no one. Not having that other threat is crushing LFC's attack.

Nevertheless, he's had a couple of chances that didn't go his way. I was liken his situation to Jozy's - yeah, he's not playing like a world beater, but he's also caught the brunt of failings that are far beyond his fault alone.

Right, but I'm more concerned with his attitude. Even if he is playing like a world beater, it's still a problem if he's carrying on off the field and pissing off the rest of the team.

He has an awful attitude, but he's playing as out of position as a Striker can play without being on the backline right now.

If he was paired with Villa up top (or anyone really of that ilk around the world), he could score 20 goals in Europe or 30 here in the USA. He's still that talented. But he needs service and a partner up top.

As I think about it, he would be perfect for NYRB. No one seems to care about attitude there. With Henry and Cahill coming off the books, you are freeing up almost $10 Million a year in salary.

I just don't know if RedBull is going to invest any money in that team moving forward.

If Red Bull were to sign Balotelli it would be for the express purpose of sending him to Leipzig to give them the opportunity to get into the Bundesliga. Harrison is turning into an afterthought for them.

Balotelli would either make us a nightmare to defend, or possibly destroy our team chemistry alone.... He's certainly an interesting player.

I am really on the fence about Balotelli. I personally am a huge fan of him. He is entertaining on and off the pitch. But that being said, I have enjoyed him while he has been at arms distance. It would be hard to say how he would be viewed here in the US. Let's face it, athletes here can get away with a lot more off the field craziness. Ive watched videos about his off the field antics and a decent amount of them i've been like, "Yeah... so.... he hasn't gotten anything on Chad Ochocinco, Dennis Rodmon, or Terrell Owens." The only thing I would be worried about would be his ability to get along with the players and that I am very insure of. I think NYC would be a perfect fit for him, but could we get him to calm the heck down when it comes to cooperating with the team. No doubt he'd be arguably the best player in the league, but would he be worth sacrificin team chemistry for it? I would say that it is probably a mute point anyways because I don't know if CFG would be willing to thow more money at Balotelli after his flop at ManCity. Just food for thought
