Do other NYC team besides Mets have mascots? Do you think we should have one?

As far as I know, no other NY teams have mascots. The Nets had one for awhile; some bizarre futuristic knight that dunked with the help of a trampoline (you know, knight things). I think the mascot scene is dying except for in baseball, so I'd probably stay away from that idea. Plus, the Philly Phanatic is the uncontested king of the mascot world. Nothing will ever dethrone that magical thing, whatever he is.

I was looking up NY state animal symbols and beaver was one along with an interesting bird. The eastern blue bird. Which has our colors...more or less

I understand why teams have a mascot, but do they really need to observe the minutes silence with the players? It's looks so out of place.
