The last several years of FSG's stewardship of Liverpool indicates that their thought processes run a little deeper than "let's get a club legend in to manage the first team". Klopp had enormously more coaching experience when he was hired by Liverpool than Gerrard will have by the time Klopp moves on. Gerrard will need to earn some stripes in a real league before he's seriously considered, I would imagine.You obviously know Liverpool much better than I but I'd think if Gerrard wins trophies at Rangers no one else is clearly locked in as Klopp's successor.
