I can't begin to tell you how f-Ing excited I am right now.
Football/soccer has finally made it in the daily fantasy world.
By that I mean DraftKings the world biggest online fantasy website. So that means legal betting on sports in the US.
Theyre kicking things off with hundreds of contests for Premier League (Starting 09/20) one of them a $10,000 contest with $1,000 to winner for only a $2 entry. Other contests as well for larger prizes.
Why am I calling it the next Supporters Competition?! I'm challenging someone on here to win!
Please, take even $2 and join DraftKings.Com (Can deposit via PayPal) and enter the contest. I'll be entering a couple of lineups myself as I already do NFL leagues. If there's enough interest on the forum I'll set up a section for discussing strategy. Hopefully someone here can take home the grand prize!

Feel free to share yours with friends/family once you join. I recommend setting a limit as it can get addicting. I deposited an initial $100 and have stuck to that and send winnings to my paypal when I do win and still play with the initial deposit. If you like fantasy NFL you'll love this.

Hey Dan. Have you ever won any money in one of those leagues? I never joined one before because I have heard from people using other similar websites that you need to jump through hoops to cash out. That or there are minimums you must reach in order to cash out. I am not saying that is this case for DraftKings, or that I've every head this about DraftKinds...just an inquiry.

I've been on draft kings for about a year. Stoked they added the premier league. If anyone wants to challenge me I'm at mrollinsiv. Never taken money out though.

I've won plenty of times. Been playing draft kings for about 4 months now.
It's as simple as entering your PayPal address and the money is in there the same day if it's a business day.
I started with $100 and in the time have probably withdrawn about $150+ and am down to about $20 playing of the original $100 but still up $70 on my money.
Like I mentioned. Join and deposit $10 and play the $2 league if you want to try it. Or just join and play a free league. They always have free ones for people to test it out.

Is that an affiliate link? If you're making money off of this (even if it is being used to fund the site), you really ought to disclose that.

It isn't the traditional one where people join and I get a % or something like that as far as I know it's not $$. I get a free entry into a small contest. Not cash.
But honestly I play DK just about every day and have got plenty of friends into it. Wether it's NFL or the occasional MLB. Would be awesome to get more people on here to play. I never wanted to post it before as they didn't have soccer but now that they do I'm hyped and figured I'd share.
I probably entered 1 too many lineups though lol.
I'll put that on there though.

Nobody will mind and, in fact, people may sign up primarily to help out the site!

Feel free to check it out. You don't even have to deposit. They have free non $$ for everything just to get an idea of how it works. I'd recommend everyone do that first anyway as it is a bit tough to win off the bat unless you really know your stuff. The good thing about the soccer is everyone will be new to it so We're all on an even playing field since this is the first week.

I truly don't understand why I can't try and help myself pay for the costs of running this site.
I tried google ads at first and while I did earn a decent amount I took them off for the benefit of YOU guys. The reason, the ads were not targeted as NYCFC isn't really that big yet. So most of the ads had nothing to do with football and were coupons or crappy download this ads. So I removed them.
If you want to help support the site please feel free to donate and I owe a lot to those that do. $34 a month for hosting alone. I will say 3 months have been covered thus far and I'm greatfull to those that donated and have their names on the top. But we've been up for longer then that.
DK JUST came out with soccer. I ACTUALLY PLAY ON IT WEEKLY if not daily with MLB and NFL. I'm ACTUALLY excited about the soccer. I ACTUALLY made $700 on it last week off of $30 bet.
I will send you $10 RIGHT NOW to your paypal if you want to try it out and wish I could to everyone because there's a lot of people on there who know nothing about soccer but are playing it anyway.

Even the season tickets I bought belong to this community. Already gave away the opening day and 2nd home game tickets. FRONT ROW 14A Isle side which I could probably resell for a healthy amount but I'm giving them away.

If people join through our referral link and make some money and in turn support the community and then we can restart the monthly giveaways then amazing.

I made the decision to stay away from that game. I figured it would be a draw or 1-1 so I didn't invest into the high $$$ players. Played a lot of Arsenal and Man U guys and that did it for me.
You really have to keep allegiances out of it and play the guys you think WILL score.
Costa will be a good play this week IF he plays. He might not since they play Sporting on Tuesday and they've made it clear he wont play multiple games in a week.

I don't have a single problem with you putting ads or promoting sponsors. You've spent a lot of money on this & the competitions (which I have benefited from) and I have no problem with you getting ads or whatever to recoup your investment. I sincerely hope you make back every penny you've spent and then some.

I do think that when you were asked if this was a sponsor, you should have said: "yeah, they're a sponsor but I have had experience with them before the sponsorship and..." Particularly since it's a gambling site, and there's a lot of dangers associated with that, I think erring on the side of transparency in the future is the way to go.

And before selecting them I did research and its completely legal in the state of NY. If it wasn't I wouldn't have.
Fantasy sports is actually not qualified as Gambling as Casino/poker and thus is completely legal in almost all states besides those that have specifically made laws against it.
"The legality of daily fantasy sports is the same as that of season long fantasy sports. In 2006, the US Federal Government passed a law called the Unlawful Internet Gaming Enforcement Act (or UIGEA), which was designed to prevent gambling over the internet. The law included a carve out that clarified the legality of all fantasy sports.

Daily fantasy sports is a skill game and is not considered gambling"
