Oh I place the blame squarely on Reyna for the contract extension. i never understood why it was done before the incoming manager arrived - why tie his hands?
Welp, Kreis learned nothing from his time here.
I think by the end of this year, the rest of the league will learn what we learned about Kreis in 2015. So many people on r/MLS had hard on's for the guy and considered NYCFC stupid for thinking he wasn't a very good manager.

In a surprise move reminiscent of Landon Donovan coming out of retirement, Orlando City signs Ned Grabavoy to a three year contract. Terms of the contract are not revealed per MLS policy but it is believed that they used all $650k Gam/Tam received from the Minnesota United trade. Per Kreis, "We expect Ned to be the trigger on the field - he's a leader and will be wearing the number ten - Kaka has agreed to relinquish it to somebody of such offensive might."

Kreis needed the locker room leadership. Now let's see if Kaka gets Kreis fired at the end of this season.
Vieira was hired November 9. Saunders extension happened more than one month later on December 17.
Vieira had 5 weeks to look at film and give his input.

Josh seemed like a good guy so best super happy feels kind of mean but I'm definitely not going to miss the feeling of my stomach tightened up everytime he had to make a play. So...
To be fair to Vieira, he may have been hired in November, but January 1st was considered his start date.
I think it's reasonably clear that we have a European management structure with Vieira ultimately calling the shots nowadays, and Reyna acting more like a figurehead. But he probably deferred A LOT more to Reyna on decisions back in December of 2016.
There is no classiness when the ball hits the back of our net or when the ball is kicked into nowhere.
So I reiterate, this was a jizzworthy moment in club history.
Hero in season one, villain in season 2. Happy to see him leave but thankful for the good times.
what? I don't recall heroics season 1. Pretty sure the best you can argue was he was not our biggest problem at the time but when when some crap started to fall off the roster he then became public enemy number 1.
