So.... Playoff tickets are selling below face on Stubhub.

This is truly disappointing. An amazing match-up featuring 6 of the highest profile players in the league and you can buy secondary market tickets at a price below public face in many sections.

Why?

Are you talking about our home match or this weekend's away game?

If I wanted tickets for the 6th but had other plans that day at 3pm, I'd be really frustrated not knowing the kickoff time yet. MLS has completely dropped the ball with this because their hesitation could be causing possible spectators' hesitation in buying tickets thus dropping demand.

For our home game. Short of a blowout in the first game, I think it's safe to assume we'll have the prime time slot.

Probable, yes, but if buying 2-4 tickets, would you want to take that chance on the purchase?

is this not what stub hub does? sell a bunch of tickets below face value?

i dont mind as long as the place is rocking and as full as possible.

I think with the fees it ends up being slightly above face value for the least expensive tickets on stub hub.

For such a big game you'd think tickets would almost be gone but there's still a ton available on ticketmaster. Not sure how much the non-game time is affecting sales though.

Unfortunately, due to the lower turnaround, playoff attendance in MLS has historically been lower than regular season averages. Don't be surprised to see 25k or less for our game unless the club makes a huge marketing push.

Tickets for our games typically get purchased pretty late. I think sales are going very well and that we are going to be back above 30,000.

The delay in finding out the starting time happens in every sport, not just MLS.

People may also have owned multiple tickets and are selling them to make some money back. I thought about doing this with my additional seats but I wouldn't be able to make more than the face value so why take the net loss.

Stubhub is just a market place -- tickets sell at whatever price the market will bear. It's not designed to sell below face.

true but people still want to go to stub hub to get cheaper tickets as the day tends to get closer. at least thats how i been using stub hub.

again as long as we fill the place up as best we can its all that matters no matter what price they go at.

I completely agree that it's disappointing we don't have a game time yet. I understand scheduling and TV can take a little to coordinate, but it would be a big help to have some idea.

Hoping to get times tomorrow now that the first games will have been played.

Just went on TicketMaster and they are only showing resale tickets. It looks like suddenly all the tickets for sale from the team are gone. Anyone know why this would be?

They are their now...i'm guessing you somehow had the "standard ticket" box unchecked?
