Stadium Discussion

Reminder that Populous came to NYC in order to further their residential/industrial design prospects/ability and still hadn't be involved or contacted about stadium-related business as of last year.

Yeah, the whole Populous things started on this thread when we realized the renderings in the survey were of Populous designed buildings. Then we saw they opened a NYC office. And then a few local blogs/reporters ran with it... All rumors start in the Stadium Thread. We know what's real and what's fake. It's why we're all scared of hedgehogs!

What if we all promise to bring our own chairs and clean up after ourselves - can we play in a central Park

Stadium? No.

But I'd like the first team to have a public training session in Central Park. That would be awesome. Imagine if unannounced (unless one checks permits on NYC Parks), the first team walked onto a field in Central Park for a training session.

Just pointing out that there's (maybe) a bucket of gold at the end of the rainbow for the cheesesteak crowd...

(I know nothing about future cheesesteak venders at the stadium, but if we're going to get one it might as well be better than Carl's - never liked the YS version - and Jersey Mikes)

Um, did I miss something? Did something happen to the cheesesteaks at the stadium? DID SOMEONE HURT THE CHEESESTEAKS?!

Carl's was replaced by Jersey Mikes. And they weren't open last game. Typically there's a 15min wait for a sandwich with the long line, so it's a head scratcher why it was closed.

Guess it's a good thing I didn't trek to that side of the stadium last game. I would have been very disappointed if I left the warmth of my blanket for nothing.

Everything in Yankee Stadium is a Yankees decisions. Why was Carl's replaced? Ask the Yankees front office.

Not a question of why they were replaced, it was a question of why the vendor wasn't operating during a game.

Well, I've done some research and it seems they have a food truck (apparently still active), with a Twitter account and a Facebook page (both of which still list both the stadium and the long-gone stores). Will try to contact them to find out what the story is. Stay tuned, more details as they arrive.

They do offer a chicken cheesesteak.

I've have their cheesesteak at their 3rd avenue location and you can get cheese wiz and other toppings. I'd hope this satellite kiosk has the same options, and maybe that's why they closed it down before the game if they weren't fully stocked with the stuff (that'd be pretty bad management, but idk why else they'd have been closed)?
If you can't order it without those f*&^ing peppers than nobody'll buy them. At all. Ever

NOOOOOOBOOOOOOODYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

Really weird. I didn't even try to go over there today. It's like they opened for one pregame and that's it.

Also - Carvel still isn't open

Yep they were closed.

But I saw the Noodle place is still there. Mighty Quinn's Burnt Tips sandwich is pretty ridiculous. And there's a BareBurger next to it.
