Stadium Discussion

I say build the stadium on an elevated platform above madison square garden. It would be the most unrealistic and badass stadium in the world. And hey penn station is right below, problem solved.
Yeah, but think of the logistical nightmare of making a schedule where you can't have a NYCFC game during an MSG event - it'd just be too many people in one place

Just float that shit in the middle of the Hudson. What?

Unless you're from Omni Corp and you're going to use your plans for New Detroit as a baseline.

I thought the garages were bankrupt and now under control of the city(might be wrong on this). The elevator company is privately owned and would love the $.
There are buildings over the FDR from 68th to 72nd that were built as an afterthought. Lets not leave out the United Nations thats built over the FDR. There are thousands of units built over the Cross bronx exp. as an after thought
Maybe i'm from a different generation where Americans looked for an solution. Whats our state motto?[/QUOTE]

Not sure why I am bothering, but you don't see a difference between extending a platform over 4 lanes of traffic that are already below grade and building a stadium over a pre-existing, above-ground level building?

Although your idea about offering the elevator company guy some money could just work...

I know it will never happen because of the desire of a 5 boros location and I don't think it would ever be approved anyway but I would kill for a stadium on the waterfront in Weehawken or Hoboken. You could have the open end of the stadium facing NYC and it would be the most fantastic sporting setting in probably the world. Just imagine the images of David Villa celebrating with the city lights glistening over the Hudson in the distance. Sigh.

Nobody wants to be in Jersey, I'm pretty sure this is one of the biggest selling points of the team...

Anyway, there are plenty of areas inside the city limits that could pull off fantastic views of the city, although I don't see that as happening. Regardless, I don't care about views from the stadium, I just want one that is easy to get to and is beautiful on the inside.

Realistically they are going to build the stadium in one of the boroughs . Sorry to the people that want it in westchester but that isn't going to happen. They are probably working to get a deal done somewhere centralized with transportation to make it easiest for fans.. My guess is really brooklyn or queens .

It's NJ, no.

Bing. Who cares about the views. I'm not there to fall in love while eating ice cream and looking at the NYC skyline. I'm there for some football. The atmosphere inside is what matters.
