There are parts of Long Island where you can't pump your own gas - and it's feckin' stoopidAt least they'll be able to pump their own.

It's pretty awesome actually, you don't have to get out of your when it is freezing in the winter or hot as balls in the summer. There are parts of Long Island where you can't pump your own gas - and it's feckin' stoopid
Yeah, but it takes longer when it's busy and the attendant is stretchedIt's pretty awesome actually, you don't have to get out of your when it is freezing in the winter or hot as balls in the summer.

We're getting sidetracked here, but the whole Town of Huntington, I believeWait, where is such amazingness happening on LI? By me I have to pump it myself.
Sidetracked? Nope that never happens here...We're getting sidetracked here, but the whole Town of Huntington, I believe
i keep saying this but I feel that the bronx site will most likely get done, the club will purchase the parking garage from the city, purchase the elevator company and build their stadium there
No it the elevator company are the one that wanted more money when they realize it was a sheik that is backing the team. This fairly recent article (From last August) suggests it will still work out: http://www.capitalnewyork.com/artic...s-over-soccer-site-stall-city-looks-elsewhere
I can't find it at the moment but I thought I read somewhere that it was the parking garage holding out for more cash that slowed it down (i.e. not the elevator company or de Blasio) which seems like an easy problem to solve under the circumstances
east northport you can't pump your own gas either....never really had a problem thoughWe're getting sidetracked here, but the whole Town of Huntington, I believe
Yeah But the later "leaks" about elevator company asking for more money when everything was supposedly agreed upon, makes me think that was leaked by the FO. It the guy who left that was who's job it was to get that deal done, it make me think that he was butt hurt when the elevator company asked for more cash and either he leaked or it came for the mayor's office or the Bronx boro pres office.the one thing that makes it seem weird that apparently it was the deblasio admin coming in that halted this thing is that the elevator company owner was quoted saying something along the lines of "i don't know what the hell is going on" so that makes it seem like it was there was a deal in place
I have been living a horrible lie and it has forced me say words that I think may actually be forbidden on the Internet:
I'm sorry -- I was clearly wrong, which is ironic given the douchy cockiness of my response.
Not sure why I am bothering, but you don't see a difference between extending a platform over 4 lanes of traffic that are already below grade and building a stadium over a pre-existing, above-ground level building?I thought the garages were bankrupt and now under control of the city(might be wrong on this). The elevator company is privately owned and would love the $.
There are buildings over the FDR from 68th to 72nd that were built as an afterthought. Lets not leave out the United Nations thats built over the FDR. There are thousands of units built over the Cross bronx exp. as an after thought
Maybe i'm from a different generation where Americans looked for an solution. Whats our state motto?
Episcopalian? Me too. We're the worst.Well I am a man of faith...
Don't let anyone here lie. Married, single or other, lots of folk "pumping their own gas", as it were.At least they'll be able to pump their own.
I know it will never happen because of the desire of a 5 boros location and I don't think it would ever be approved anyway but I would kill for a stadium on the waterfront in Weehawken or Hoboken. You could have the open end of the stadium facing NYC and it would be the most fantastic sporting setting in probably the world. Just imagine the images of David Villa celebrating with the city lights glistening over the Hudson in the distance. Sigh.[/QUOTE
I nix the idea- I dont' like the action of crossing any bridge or underwater tunnel after 9/11
Papist, myself.Episcopalian? Me too. We're the worst.
Sorry about that. I blame the chili I had for dinner last night.......Don't let anyone here lie. Married, single or other, lots of folk "pumping their own gas", as it were.
