Edit: I don’t know how to post pictures so if someone can just put it without the link that would be helpful
I can’t realy tell exactly where this is in the South Bronx. I’ve been going up and down the area on google maps along the river.
I’m not engineer or architect, but it looks like it would be really difficult to expand in this spot.
Also... that roof is brutal. From what we’ve seen on other “legitimate” renderings they would have Etihad plastered all over that bad boy which this doesn’t.
Overall, I can’t see this being legit.
200 million. My mistake.Wikipedia says the cost was $200 million, not $2 million. Coupla extra zeros.
Yeah, that rendering mashup is not good. Great stadium rendering that unfortunately isn’t at the right perspective and the scale is out of proportion.Well, we know that they have given that site serious thought in the past, so that could be a legitimate (if surprisingly sloppy) rending. One interesting thing that happened recently, however, is that the City Clerk's lobbyist database finally started putting the forms filed up on the website, and it sheds a lot more light on what they've been up to. Here's their form for 2017, for example. No mention of talking to the Bronx BP's office, so I'm skeptical that they're still really looking at that for the site - but a number of conversations with Melinda Katz apparently took place...

To address LionNYC ’s comment, it may be fabric, but not likely, as that wouldn’t provide protection from rain and would be a hell of a problem under a snow load. More likely a plastic/acrylic composite to let light in and offer impervious protection.
What’s very interesting is that this appears to have three levels of pedestrian promenades which could include commercial spaces to activate the areas along the water (restaurants, bars, shops). That would be a prime selling point towards rejuvenating the area in return for the stadium.
Doesn’t seem real to me either. And would also be super disappointing based on the rendering formula:
Gorgeous rendering - 30% of the budget it would take to make it = actual final product.
It’s just not pretty, nor impressive enough that I’d be satisfied with a lesser version of it.
I’m not dismissing what you’re saying, but can you give some details (recent vs past) that have all of a sudden sent you to the deepest reaches of distrust???Over two years he has fed people absolute bullshit. And his lies are now starting to contradict themselves.
Believe nothing he says or you will get burned.
They're not going to put Etihad on it until they are ready to announce that Etihad is the sponsor.Let's be honest. Only renderings with Etihad Stadium branding are legitimate.
A deal can be made for Harlem River Yards and its 12.8 acres.

What did you hear this week? I was at a round table discussion two weeks ago and pressed him on it and he said 26k with the likelihood of expansion. He knows people want 40k now, but until the STH go up, there’d be open seats which would hurt resale.I'll give the one that put me over the top this week. In the past 10 months, he's provided 3 different answers regarding the size of the stadium. All lies.
He tells you what you want to hear to keep you paying the bills.
