I remember him connecting well with Bravo as a CB and helping to start a solid attack out of the back. The team looked much better with those players in those positions in the pre-season. It's a bit strange we haven't seen either player there since.

Yes it is a fact that EJ is much better with his feet and distribution then Saunders. Not even close.
We are building from the back with a guy who cannot play the ball with his feet. I think that solves a lot of problems right away, certainly solves the once a game cluster, where he and hernandez combine to give the single opposing forward a chance to steal it from his feet for an easy goal. I think it also gets it quicker to the midfield without allowing three minutes for the defense to get set and rest. I have never seen something so ridiculous as us playing the ball in any other team.

I think people are still in a state of shock that such a wonderfuck type goal could have taken place less than 40secs into the match. Nearly everybody on the boards (and Men In Blazers) knew that Saunders was going to get stung by his dribbling ineptitude and couldn't figure out why the team hasn't been more concerned, and who knows if they even are since Vieira sung his bounced-back praises after the goal. Honestly, I don't know how Vieira could say it with a straight face, because I have a feeling every other fan collectively threw up in the mouths like I did watching Calamity Saunders gift the goal. Vieira either carries mouthwash with him, or it's considered a French delicacy.

Well, on the TV broadcast yesterday they all got a good long glimpse of him sitting on the bench looking absolutely disgusted after the Saunders shit-show. It wasn't a direct shot of him, I think it was a throw-in and he was right there behind it, the look on his face was priceless.

Meanwhile, Gleeson and Rowe are both better than our starter. How many back-ups in the league are better than Saunders? I'd venture to guess all of them.
Rowe was in the league pool. Think about that. I'm choosing to believe that means there are other keepers roughly as good as him just hanging out, being paid by the league for emergencies. Yet, we play Saunders. To me, it just screams stubborn, willful ignorance.
