It's been there forever, apparently, and they have one for CONCACAF champions league. Apparently it's built as a motivational tool as they wait for trophies.

I think one of the ESPN writers was tweeting about it and clarified that point. I can't find that tweet, but Lalas sent one in September. Doesn't appear to have been built with this year in mind:
