After two games it is clear that some adjustments need to be made. The boys should be in a 4-3-3 with Shelton-Villa-Mullins as the front three. Last night the Revolution defense was exposed every time David Villa dropped into the midfield playing as false-9 at times. The run drew one or both of the center backs out of position leaving acres of space for the speedy Shelton or goal-hungry Mullins to make runs into. Mix should play in the center of the park until the arrival of Frankie. He possess the technical ability and tactical awareness to see players running in and sliding in the key pass to unlock any MLS defense. Another notable switch would be Facey at rightback. He is a solid defender one-on-one and possesses the technical ability to move forward up the pitch and add to the attack. He should replicate Brovsky's effectiveness down the right flank. This are just a few things I noticed that could benefit the boys.
